As if it wasn’t bad enough when Jeremiah Wright suggested that God should “Damn America,” we now have the Reverend Joseph Lowery making not so thinly veiled racist remarks masked as a prayer at the inauguration.

Lowery was clearly trying to do some clever wordplay when he said:

“(Lord) we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around … when yellow will be mellow … when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right.”

When white will embrace what is right? Has anyone informed the good reverend that Obama won the election with overwhelming support from white people?

Has anyone clued the good reverend into the whole “Obama makes us post racial” thing?

I agree. I’m beyond tired of the racism exhibited in Obama’s campaign. I decided to write a poem/prayer of my own to make myself feel better. You can find it at http://immakingprogress.wordpress.com/

What is even more depressing, I only see this as just the start of things to come over the next four years.

From what I gather, there are people I know who voted for Obama who have also already grown tired of some of the trash and thuggery that has accompanied him to the WH.

I was actually enjoying the day up until the crusty old black guy started mumbling.

Piss on coming together, it’s game time and I can’t wait to get started.
