If someone had told you on September 12, 2001 that radical Islam was just “a fact of life” would you have believed them? Newsweek seems to think so. On the cover of their new issue they say just that. Radical Islam is a fact of life America so just deal with it OK? Don’t make a mountain out of a mole hill. Just deal with it.
Last month we found out we are all socialists, now we are being told we just have to “deal” with radical Islam. What will Newsweek tell us next? Please leave suggestions in the comments section.

I am opposed to Islam, not Arabs or Indians or Persians. That said, I thought his article made a good point. he seems to be saying that we cannot hope for democracy and secualr government within these countries, so in order to increase our safety, we have to make the countries stable– and capable of supporting their people above a poverty level. To do that–increase stability to get to our safety–we cannot hope for liberal democracy. We must work with militants instead of radicals and extremists, and then hopefully in time they can progress. This is a prescription he is writing for the people within the countries of the middle east, not for muslims in the west. In the west, personally, I think we should expect assimilation and refuse sharia court.
Could he have a point?
