Isn’t it Great That Obama Gets to Take All the Credit for Success in Iraq?
No, actually, it isn’t. And many people are noticing this fact.
Doug Powers, writing at Hot Air’s Green Room notes:
“It’s amazing enough that Obama’s entire statement on the successes in Iraq didn’t positively acknowledge the troops or Bush, without whom none of the progress in Iraq that Obama is essentially taking credit for would have been possible…”
A fact that’s lost on many Americans, is that this draw down of the troops is rightly credited to George W. Bush, not Obama. CNN buried that fact down at the bottom of their report:
“The U.S. withdrawal was part of an agreement signed last year between former President George W. Bush’s administration and the Iraq leadership. The agreement calls for all U.S. forces to leave Iraq by the end of 2011.”
Wasn’t it then Senator Obama who opposed the war and the Surge every step of the way?
HotAirPundit has more and video:
“This President does not have a d**n thing to do with Iraq’s success..
This is simply shameless. Remember Bush paid dearly at the ballot box in 2006 for perceived Iraq failure. Today not any mention of Bush who put his Presidency on the line for Victory in Iraq, when everyone was telling him to cut, run and surrender.”
