The Queen Is Dead, Karma Catches Up With Perez Hilton

ph

Andrew Breitbart writing at Big Hollywood, notes the irony of Perez Hilton being brought down essentially by political correctness.

“Mario Lavandeira, the mean-spirited impresario behind the celebrity-obsessed mega-Web site PerezHilton.com, was left scratching his pink-tinged pompadour last week, wondering aloud in a campy cry-baby YouTube classic why, after being physically assaulted in public, he is now universally scorned and widely considered the villain of an incident that left him appropriately “black eyed.”

“Aside from the basic rules of karma, here’s why: The calculus of political correctness is like roshambo, the “rock-paper-scissors” game. Different identity groups hold specific levels of power over others when their battles play out in the media. To wit: Black beats white. Gay beats white. Black beats gay.”

“Don’t ask why. It just is.”

You can also read the whole thing in the Washington Times, right HERE.

While I’m at it, I recommend you listen to this segment from the Opie and Anthony Radio Show where they mercilessly tear up Perez Hilton over the whole Will.I.Am situation. Warning, lots of language that’s NSFW.

Of course, the karma train doesn’t end there. You see in addition to Hilton’s dust up with the Black Eyed Peas, Perez is being taken to task for his distasteful coverage of the news of Michael Jackson’s death. Upon hearing the news Jackson had died, Perez snarkily reported it as a stunt. This has caused a movement on Twitter to UN-follow Perez and as of today, he’s lost out on a whopping 800,000 fellow tweeters. Popcrunch has the story as well as a screen capture of Hilton’s nasty Jackson post.

“Perez Hilton has been dropped by more than 800,000 of his followers on Twitter after making controversial remarks about the late Michael Jackson, Media Bistro has learned. Nearly 1 million of the celebrity blogger’s 1.8 million followers hit the road last week after the always charming Perez (Insert eye-roll here) ruffled the feathers of fans by suggesting that the King of Pop was faking a heart attack to get out of his 50-date “This Is It” Tour, which would have kicked off in London in July.”

Gawker, a long time snarky-foe of Hilton, is also jumping into the feeding frenzy and says Perez is running scared.

“Perez (née Mario Lavandeira) got a literal slap upside the head by Will.I.Am’s manager earlier this week, and a few figuratively slaps upside the head by celebrities who once willingly participated in his sadomasochistic, symbiotic celebrity-industrial complex for his poor handling of Michael Jackson’s death. Because of both, Lavandeira’s clearly shaken, and isn’t doing too well.”

Jim Treacher makes a short but interesting point about all of this relating back to Hilton’s treatment of former Miss California, Carrie Prejean.

It all reminds me of a classic song by The Smiths. The title track from a record called The Queen is Dead.
