I realize the title of this post is long and confusing but that’s sort of the point. Obama’s supporters in the 2008 presidential campaign used racism as a weapon at every single turn. Anyone who stood in Obama’s way was immediately attacked and shut down by charges of racism – a very serious and hurtful charge.
Among the highest profile targets of this accusation were President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Geraldine Ferraro, John McCain, Sarah Palin, many of their supporters and the entire staff of FOX News.
Now Obama has stepped in it over the Gates vs. Crowley situation and by his own admission, sided with Professor Henry Gates against the Cambridge Police Department without knowing all the facts.
Obama himself is being accused of granting favor solely on the basis of race. How are his most ardent supporters reacting? I’ll give you a clue…

Talking Points Memo is accusing Glenn Beck of racism. Why? Because Beck said it was racist of Obama to side with Professor Henry Gates solely on the basis of race.
Talking Points Memo is accusing Rush Limbaugh of racism. Why? Because his radio show lampooned “Barack the Magic Negro” a meme originally created by the Los Angeles Times.
Think Progress, a conservative hating website, jumps onto the Glenn Beck pile.

I wonder if the readers of these blogs are behind the “progressive” messages sent to Michelle Malkin in the last 24 hours that accused her of being an “Oriental Hore?” (original spelling)
Are there real racists in America? Absolutely. Do they represent the majority of the American people? Absolutely not.
Obama supporters accused everyone and anyone who stood in their way of being racists. For them to cry racism now that THEY are being accused of racism is absurd.
If Obama supporters in the media and blogosphere continue to wield the very serious charge of racism as a political weapon they will do nothing more than diminish the plight of racism’s real victims.
They may also learn the true meaning of the age old saying:
“He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword.”
