Rolling Stone Magazine wants to keep the dream alive so their new cover sports the ever popular Obama-with-a-Halo meme. Shepard Fairey, the artist propagandist who created the cover denies that it’s a halo.
“Fairey said it wasn’t meant to be a halo. Rather, the picture he worked from showed Obama standing in front of the presidential seal, he said.”
“It’s one thing to be running for president and it’s another to be President and I think this new illustration that I did hopefully captures the complexity and the weight of his new role,” Fairey said.”
Isn’t Rolling Stone a rock and roll magazine?
Do you remember when rock and roll was cool and anti-establishment? If Rolling Stone had any balls at all, they’d put the Obama/Joker image on their new cover.
That’s edgy and anti-establishment.
They sure loved taking on the establishment when Bush was president.
