When Will #Occupy Wall Street Qualify As Domestic Terrorism?

In the early days of the Tea Party, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano released an official report about the supposed danger of right wing domestic terrorists. Gee, who was she talking about?

Despite Secretary Napolitano’s use of a federal security agency to shape a political narrative, which by the way was enthusiastically embraced by the media, there are absolutely no documented acts of terrorism or even petty crimes which can be attributed to the Tea Party.

Bearing that in mind, consider the fact that the Coast Guard, a branch of the United States Armed Forces has now been called to deal with the violent and disruptive actions of #Occupywallstreet. At what point will the Department of Homeland Security call #Occupywallstreet a domestic terrorism organization? What will it take?

The Daily News Online reports the following…

The U.S. Coast Guard will escort the first ship coming to the EGT grain terminal at the Port of Longview this month, and the Occupy movement and local labor groups say they are planning to greet the vessel with a massive protest. [SNIP]

However, the Occupy movement it taking a more aggressive stance, calling for members nationwide to gather outside Port of Longview gates and thwart efforts to load the ship, said Paul Nipper, an organizer for Occupy Longview. The group shut down the ports coastwide, including Longview, Dec. 8.

The Coast Guard will deploy one or two vessels to escort the grain ship up the Columbia River, with more on call if necessary, said Lt. Lucas Elder, a spokesman for Coast Guard’s Portland-based marine safety unit. Other law-enforcement agencies will also be present, he said.

Small boat captains who refuse to get out of the way of the ship could face hefty civil penalties, Elder said.

“The Coast Guard is definitely going to be involved in making sure the port is safe.”

To the best of my knowledge, no one ever had to even call a cop to deal with the Tea Party. Mostly because the Tea Party has always been a peaceful protest movement but also because unlike #Occupywallstreet, the Tea Party has always obtained official permits and paid for police details at their demonstrations.

It’s also worth noting that this isn’t the Occupy movement’s first run-in with the Coast Guard. In the fall of 2011, a uniformed female Coast Guard member was assaulted by members of #Occupy Boston.

Three years ago, the Obama Administration colluded with the media to falsely paint the Tea Party as terrorists.

Today, the Obama Administration deployed the U.S. Coast Guard to deal with #Occupy, a movement the president’s constant class warfare rhetoric helped to spawn.

The double standard applied to the Tea Party vs. the #Occupy movement is not just a casual failure on the part of the Obama Administration and the liberal media complex.

It’s a  betrayal of the American people.
