Occupy Providence Throws Condoms At Catholic School Girls

Because nothing says speaking truth to power like standing up to little girls. Right?

PROVIDENCE, RI, January 30, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Demonstrators from the Occupy Wall Street movement threw condoms on Catholic schoolgirls, refused to allow a Catholic priest to give a closing prayer, and shouted down a pro-life speaker at a Rhode Island right to life rally on Thursday, according to its organizer. The event marked the third time protesters associated with the movement have disrupted a pro-life meeting in a week.

About two-dozen members of Occupy Providence hiked from Burnside Park to the 39th Annual Pro-Life State House Rally organized by the Rhode Island State Right to Life Committee on Thursday.

Classy… BTW, Aren’t these folks always saying they’re all about free speech? How exactly does shouting other people down qualify as a defense of free speech?

  But I thought Occupy was about inequality or something, not imposing your intolerance on others for their perceived intolerance!

  Maybe the Occupiers haven’t got the memo. Or maybe they’re too wasted to remember how they whine like 13 year olds whenever anyone has the temerity to disagree with them. Or maybe they’re just your classic liberal hypocrites. Yeah, I think I’ll go with all three.

  Interesting, only citation I could find in the local Providence Journal is an letter to the editor from a local Catholic priest. Nothing in the news pages about the Life rally, counter-protest, or the conduct of the two sides.

  Either the media are covering for the #OCCUPYFAIL movement, or have stopped covering them because the movement morphed into an embarassment for the NARRATIVE.

  The media didn’t want to cover it for two reasons: they don’t want to write anything negative about the Occupy movement, and writing about the Occupy movement in this instance would have forced them to make their readers aware of the pro-life rally. Either reason is an appalling reflection on “objective journalism” these days. Or, more accurately, the LACK of objective journalism.

  Actually one of the speakers stated that! I was one of the school girls that was pelted with condoms. I feel bad for them because I was once for the Occupiers, but now I feel bad because one, they do not have a set goal to get something done and two, they MUST throw condoms at teenagers to make themselves feel better. Lastly, statistically there are over 50% of Americans that state that they are Pro-life…just saying! So, I agree with what you stated

  Simple explanation, leftists only support free speech for other leftists. Leftists have never supported free speech for anybody else, as evidenced by the many fascist spech codes at leftist campusses.
