The Part The Media Left Out: Occupy Movement’s Goal Is Communism

In the video at the bottom of this post, an Occupy organizer lets the mask slip and states that the true goal of the Occupy movement is to topple capitalism and replace it with communism. You didn’t hear about this from anyone in the media because they were too busy telling you that the Occupiers are mostly peaceful.

This report got a lot of play on The Daily Caller today…

Former Amalgamated Transit Union local 689 president Mike Golash, now an “Occupy” movement organizer, was caught on tape Sunday revealing his political goals: overthrowing capitalism in the United States and instituting a communist government.

“Progressive labor is a revolutionary communist organization,” Golash said during an Occupy DC “People’s Assembly” on August 19.

“Its objective,” he added, “is to make revolution in the United States, overthrow the capitalist system and build communism.”

I, for one, am shocked. As I’ve noted before, when the Occupiers say they’re against bailouts what they really mean is “Hey, where’s mine?”

Just interviewed Danielle Saul by phone. “There were three of us” who produced the video, Danielle said, naming Andrew McCaughey and Nicolas Tomboulides as her collaborators. Danielle explained that the Occupy DC meeting Sunday brought together various constituent groups involved in planning protests next month to mark the one-year anniversary of the Occupy movement.

Mike Golash was speaking on behalf of the Progressive Labor Party, a Maoist group which (if memory serves) was instrumental in fomenting the 1969 split in Students for a Democratic Society that led to the formation of the Weather Underground.
