It’s Time For Republicans To Give America a History Lesson
Grab your imaginary microphone and video camera, we’re going to do a man-in-the-street type of experiment.
Now we’re downtown in your city and we’re going to ask passersby the following question:
Which party started the KKK?
OK, now we’re done. You know what 9 out of ten people answered? Republicans.
Of course, that’s wrong. The KKK was started by Democrats, in fact it was considered the terrorist wing of the Democratic Party. Senator Robert Byrd, a Democrat who died one year after Obama took office was even a member.
Why did so many people get the answer wrong? There are many reasons but the main one is that the Democrats and their allies in the media have spent the last four years beating a drum on a daily basis calling Republicans racists.
Oppose Obama? Racist!
Oppose Obamacare? Racist!
Want entitlement reform? Racist!
Support any Republican? Racist!
For four years it has never stopped and guess what… It’s not going to.
It’s time for the Republican Party to educate America on its history.
The fact that the Democratic Party has gotten away with re-writing history is bad enough. The fact that they did it with the help of a compliant media while demonizing the Republican Party, which was founded in part to combat racism, is abhorrent.
The record has to be set straight and Republicans can’t rely on the media or public schools to do the heavy lifting for them. Republicans need to tell the story of their party to the American people.

Good luck with that. The conventional wisdom is that “some time in the 60s/70s, the parties flipped.” It doesn’t matter that this “flip” was the result of a communist effort to recruit minorities. All that matters is that the Democrats are now the party of free stuff.
“Keep Obama in President, ya know?”
That conventional wisdom you mention is nothing more than a convenient lie the left uses to explain away the racist past of the Democratic Party. Nothing less.
I know, hence “conventional wisdom” rather than “truth.” Good luck with the truth when people want to believe the lie.
