The 1st Amendment Was Devised With The Printing Press In Mind. Fact.
I just stumbled on the most interesting Tweet by Piers Morgan at Twitchy.
The 2nd amendment was devised with muskets in mind, not high-powered handguns & assault rifles. Fact.

Here’s my reply.
@piersmorgan The 1st amendment was devised with the printing press in mind, not your stupid CNN show. Fact.

It is time to make the left live by the rules of their own stupid logic.
If the framers of the Constitution were talking specifically about muskets in the 2nd Amendment, then surely the 1st Amendment only applies to the manual printing press. Under such a narrow interpretation of the Constitution, TV networks like CNN are a clear violation of American law, as is the internet and Piers Morgan’s Twitter account.
If the evolution of technology doesn’t apply to law abiding American citizens under the 2nd Amendment, it certainly doesn’t apply to British citizens living in America and enjoying the protection of our 1st Amendment.

The 2nd Amendment was framed by the Founders to allow the citizenry to arm and protect themselves against a perceived threat, whether foreign OR domestic. It’s intent was to ensure the People would never fall prey simply by virtue of being disarmed or “outgunned.” The claim by Progressives that the modern “assault weapon” (an oxymoron if I’ve ever heard one, as any item used to assault an individual is by definition an “assault weapon”) could not have been foreseen by the Founder is irrelevant and only offered as “spin” in an attempt to bolster their admittedly weak argument. The 2nd Amendment was, and is, intended to protect the right of American citizens to arm themselves against any perceived threat … using the pertinent military weaponry of the time. The Progressives fail to mention that the Revolutionary War was fought and won with largely PRIVATELY owned weapons, up to and including “weapons of mass destruction,” or, as more commonly known – cannon and mortars. The American Plainsman was easily able to “outgun” his British opponent with rifles used against the military musket. By their own definition, the Progressives would have rendered the Revolution impossible.
They’re attempting to render the counter-revolution impossible. I just can’t believe I was dumb enough to go rowboating in the ocean with all of my guns on board. I should have known that a capsize was inevitable. Those guns cost me a lot of money and now they’re all gone.
