Obama Invokes Constitution In Attempt To Destroy Constitution
I missed Obama’s big gun control presser on TV today because unlike millions of people in Obama’s America, I was at work. I did eventually get a moment to look at the news and I particularly enjoyed this laughable headline from the reliably left Washington Post…
Obama invokes Constitution in arguing for gun control
In making his case Wednesday for tighter controls on gun ownership, President Obama used the document most often cited by firearm advocates to show that such restrictions violate the founding spirit of the nation — the Constitution.
By doing so, Obama sought to turn a perceived political weaknesses — his image as an aloof intellectual — into a strength, and, at the same time, to turn a perceived strength of gun advocates — the constitutional right to bear arms — into a potential weakness.
Here’s the big argument only a progressive leftist could appreciate…
But Obama made clear that he is eager to have an argument on constitutional grounds over whether a ban on the sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, as well other elements of his gun-control package, are legal.
Citing a series of recent mass shootings, Obama listed several amendments, as well as the defining phrase of the Declaration of Independence, to argue that a gunman’s right should not compromise any others’.
“We have the right to worship freely and safely — that right was denied to Sikhs in Oak Creek, Wisconsin,” he said. “The right to assemble peacefully — that right was denied shoppers in Clackamas, Oregon, and moviegoers in Aurora, Colorado.”
Obama added that “that most fundamental set of rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” were “denied to college students at Virginia Tech and high school students at Columbine and elementary school students in Newtown, and kids on street corners in Chicago on too frequent a basis to tolerate.”
Ok…
First of all, where does a guy who voted for partial birth abortion as a senator get off lecturing people about rights to life? Second, is it just me or does it sound an awful lot like Obama is blaming law abiding gun owners for mass murder?
Read the excerpts above again. Isn’t Obama arguing that the rights of gun owners shouldn’t impede other people’s right to live? In doing so, isn’t he suggesting that gun owners are responsible for the mass murders he cites?
Am I reading this wrong?

Thanks!
Not to mention that all of those were in GUN FREE ZONES…FAIL!! DUH Had the citizens been armed…even 2 or 3 in each instance the outcome would most likely have been much different.
But we all know this is not about guns or anyone’s safety. If we were all armed with swords the argument would then be about swords.
Have been hearing the left ask; why a 30 round magazine ? answer= 29 rounds may not be enough. Been hearing we limit the 1st ammendment by not allowing those to yell fire in a crowded theater, so why can’t we ban guns? answer= We allow people to yell fire in a crowded theater, but punish those who do. If we were to apply logic of banning guns to theaters, we would tape the mouthes shut of all those entering a theater, but that would endanger all because in the event of a fire, no one will be able to shout fire.
