Two Reasons Obama Couldn’t Pass His Own New Proposals On Gun Ownership
Obama has proposed 23 new executive actions on guns.
You can read them all at Talking Points Memo, a leftist blog which suddenly thinks executive power is just great. Shocker.
Under Obama’s plan, he himself would disqualify for gun ownership on at least two points.
Point 1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
So you go to buy a gun and the federal government runs an extensive background check on you. In the course of their investigation, the feds discover you’re a close personal friend of Bill Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist and public member of the Weather Underground.
Point 4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
Dear sir, You’re a known sympathizer of Occupy Wall Street which the FBI has designated as a terrorist organization. As you may have heard, they were planning to blow up the historic arch in New York’s Washington Square.
There are probably more reasons Obama wouldn’t qualify under his own rules but I don’t care enough about his useless proposal to go through all 23 points.
