Family Can’t Rebuild Home Due To New FEMA Regulations

Here’s a story that should make you want to repeatedly bang your head against a wall.
The folks featured in this new video from Reason TV lost their home to a fire. Because of regulations enacted by FEMA in the years after they bought their home, they can’t rebuild unless they raise the house 20 feet. When all the financial aspects of the situation are taken into account, it is virtually impossible for them to rebuild or even sell.
Isn’t big government great?

“It’s easy to blame government” -spoken like a truly clueless government bureaucrat! Mindless, one-size-fits-all regulations from government caused the problem. Even if the family had the money, who would want to live in the only house that sits 20 feet above every other house in the neighborhood?
