Happy Birthday Andrew Breitbart
On February 1, Andrew Breitbart would have been 44 years old.
When Andrew passed away last year it was tragic. At the same time, it was amazing to read the the outpouring of emotion from the many people whose lives were touched by Andrew.
Andrew Breitbart knew everyone.
If he didn’t know them personally, he had at the very least talked to them on the phone, exchanged emails with them, texted with them or connected on Twitter. Everyone has an Andrew Breitbart story.
In the fall of 2008, I was unemployed and just getting into political blogging. I had heard Andrew’s name, mainly through his appearances on Red Eye. One day I read a news story about the launch of Big Hollywood, the first of the BIG sites. I somehow found Andrew Breitbart’s email address and sent him a short message asking how I could help.
Less than five minutes later, Andrew wrote back with his cell number and two words.
Next thing I knew, I was on the phone with Andrew Breitbart discussing news and politics.
That’s the kind of guy Andrew Breitbart was.
And that’s just one reason why he is remembered by so many.
