As Obama’s Green Czar Van Jones and his group Color of Change continue to lead a boycott of The Glenn Beck Program, they are about to find out that their actions are having precisely the opposite desired effect.

“Last week we reported on Fox News Channel’s primetime programs putting up huge numbers — three nights in a row beating CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and HLN combined in both Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo.”

“Meanwhile, “The Glenn Beck Program”, which airs out of primetime at 5pmET, had its highest rated week ever among Households (1,907,000) and Total Viewers (2,409,000), and second best week in the A25-54 demo (682,000).”

“Beck was #2 in his time period in both Total Viewers and the demo in all of cable last week, behind NICK, and beating his cable news competition combined in Total Viewers and the demo.”

Do you grasp the enormity of that last part?

Glenn Beck’s show was the SECOND most watched thing on cable last week, losing only to Nickelodeon and his show is on at 5 pm and 2 am EST!

Color of Change, with the full support of Think Progress, Media Matters and the Huffington Post, is continuing its assault on free speech, demanding that advertisers pull support from the Glenn Beck program.

“Eight more Glenn Beck advertisers, including Wal-Mart – the world’s largest retailer – have confirmed to ColorOfChange.org that they pulled their ads from the controversial Fox News Channel broadcaster’s eponymous show. Allergan (maker of Restasis), Ally Bank (a unit of GMAC Financial Services), Best Buy, Broadview Security, CVS, Re-Bath, Travelocity and Wal-Mart join the dozen other companies who previously distanced themselves from Beck.”

“Twenty companies have pulled their ads from Beck’s show in just the last two weeks. The moves come after the Fox News host called President Obama a “racist” who “has a deep-seated hatred for white people” during an appearance on Fox & Friends. Previous companies who pulled their ads include ConAgra, GEICO, Lawyers.com, Men’s Wearhouse, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, RadioShack, Roche, SC Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sargento, and State Farm Insurance.”

“We are heartened to see so many corporate citizens step up in support of our campaign against Glenn Beck,” said James Rucker, executive director of ColorOfChange.org. “Their action sends a clear a message to Glenn Beck: Broadcasters shouldn’t abuse the privilege they enjoy by spewing dangerous and racially charged hate language over the air. No matter their political affiliation, hate language doesn’t belong in our national dialogue.”

So the same “Progressives” who accused every single Obama opponent of being a racist leading up to the presidential election, suddenly think it’s “hate speech” to call someone a racist if the someone in question is Barack Obama.

Funny, they don’t seem to have a problem with “hate speech” when Progressives mercilessly attack Sarah Palin, her children, Joe the Plumber, Carrie Prejean, the Mormons, FOX News, Kenneth Gladney, Michelle Malkin, Andrew Brietbart, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc., etc., etc.

In fact, this has nothing to do with “hate speech.” This is a Progressive attempt to shut down a popular voice of dissent and they are using political correctness to do it.

This is an assault on the 1st Amendment. This is an assault on free speech.

Progressives hate free speech unless it is their own free speech.

They are trying to send a message to any who dare dissent. Shut up or you will be silenced.

Imagine what would happen if a close advisor to President Bush was part of right wing organization that actively pushed advertisers to boycott Keith Olbermann for being too critical of the Bush/Cheney administration.

Do you think people would sit by and let it happen? Would any of our friends on the left have a problem with that?

Enter President Obama’s “Green Czar”, Van Jones.

Van Jones, who once belonged to a Marxist organization called STORM, is now part of a group called Color of Change, and they’re trying to take down FOX News host Glenn Beck.

They didn’t like it when Beck suggested President Obama was a racist – A comment he made following the Professor Gates arrest when Obama charged the Cambridge Police with acting stupidly and because of Obama’s voluntary relationships with people like Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Color of Change has even hired a high powered PR firm to fight for them.

“As NewsBuster Matthew Vadum Wednesday, a race-baiting group named Color Of Change — co-founded by President Obama’s “Green Jobs Czar” Van Jones — has launched a campaign to get companies to stop advertising on Glenn Beck’s television program.”

“When you add it all up, a current member of the Obama administration is co-founder of a group trying to get a conservative talker off the air, and is being assisted by a powerful New York PR firm. And America’s so-called journalists couldn’t care less.”

Vadum also has a piece at American Spectator which suggest this is personal for Van Jones:

“The particularly unsavory left-wing pressure group Color of Change has an axe to grind with Glenn Beck — and it’s personal.”

“The extremist racial grievance group isn’t happy that Beck did several news packages on Van Jones, President Obama’s controversial green jobs czar who describes himself as a communist. (Green really is the new red.)”

“Jones is a founding board member of Color of Change, but Color of Change doesn’t want you to know that. Maybe having an avowed America-hating radical on the group’s board is bad public relations.”

After playing the race card at every opportunity to get Obama elected, his supporters can’t handle the slightest whiff of their own medicine. With the help of a silent media and a thuggish Chicago style administration, they’re going right for the throat, First Amendment be damned.

This is what we’ve come to. Snitch Programs at the White House. Attempts to demonize the American people for any form of dissent. And bullying thug tactics to shut down opposition in media.

The left called Bush a fascist for eight years.

It was never funny but it has also never seemed like more of a joke.

Dissent under Bush was patriotic.

Dissent under Obama is a “mob.”

The wars in the middle east under Bush were “treason.” Obama hasn’t ended the wars and needs more troops for Afghanistan.

The left accused Bush of having a “shadow government.” Obama really HAS a shadow government.

Dick Cheney was accused of favoring Halliburton.

Obama really IS favoring General Electric.

Nancy Pelosi lies and  accuses conservative protesters of having nazi signs. Liberal Bush protesters openly acused Bush of being a nazi.

The left accused the Bush Administration of being Big Brother. The Obama Administration is OPENLY acting like Big Brother.

The left is accusing average American citizens of being astroturfers. Obama and his chief advisor David Axelrod are successful because of their expertise in astroturfing.

Bush critics said he was violating the civil rights of American citizens. Obama loyalists want ObamaCare protesters named, photographed and indexed.

Obama, the Democrats and their leftist base are engaging in and embracing EVERY SINGLE THING they falsely accused the Bush Administration of doing, and worse.

Down is up.

Poor is rich.

War is peace.

Elitism is equality.

Lies are truth.

The election is over. Obama won. Will someone please tell the American left that their candidate won?

You would think it’s still September 2008 from the behavior of Democrats and Obama supporters. They froth at the mouth at any mention of dissent. They attack anyone not in worship mode. Some people in media are beginning to take notice.

Amity Shales, writing for Bloomberg reports:

“Writers who are not pro-Barack Obama are suffering character assassination as well. George Will of the Washington Post, the nation’s senior conservative columnist, has been so assaulted by bloggers that his editor, Fred Hiatt, recently wrote, “I would think folks would be eager to engage in the debate, given how sure they are of their case, rather than trying to shut him down.”

Shales offers several possible reasons for this continued post election venom, but the most compelling case is made when she brings up one of the new president’s favorite words; distraction.

“Because the ruling Democrats have tilted too far left, their allies are out on a mission of distraction, trying to prove that everyone else is too far to the right.”

Another example of the left’s inability to tolerate free speech is offered by Laura Varon Brown at the Detroit Free Press in a piece titled Obama Criticism Shuts Down Conversation.

“If you want to stop a conversation in its tracks, just question something President Barack Obama has said or done. It’s not open to debate — and I don’t think that’s healthy, for the country or the president.It’s especially unsettling for a free speech girl like me. The First Amendment is important — but lately, it feels like my right of self-expression is being squashed.”

That’s because it is, Laura. Really.

One has to wonder if Laura has been called a racist yet.

The howl of patriotic dissent has been deafening for the last eight years under President Bush. Countless protests by so called progressives were held across the nation where people hoisted signs in the air trumpeting their patriotic dissent.

But now Obama is the president and that means shut up and smile or be labeled un-American.

And it’s not just Obama’s supporters in the media who are saying this, it’s Obama himself. Case in point is Obama focusing his disdain on Rush Limbaugh and those who listen to him.

Bear in mind the real meaning of this: The President of the United States has singled out and criticized a PRIVATE CITIZEN.

Yes, Rush Limbaugh is famous but he is not an elected official, not a Republican official of any kind. He’s a talk show host. And yet the President has taken it upon himself to insult, criticize and discourage not only him but his customers.

Obama has in fact wished for the failure of a private citizen’s business. That’s not only insulting, it’s stupid.

What are people saying?

Seattle Times calls Rush Limbaugh a “Disloyal Clown.”

Jon Stewart calls Rush “Arguably Treasonous.”

A writer at the Miami Herald says “I Hope Rush Limbaugh Fails.”

Disloyal, treasonous, failure.

That’s what dissent earns you under Obama.

Fairness.

Drudge is currently reporting that NBC – National Barack Obama Company – has banned conservative author and pundit Ann Coulter…. for life.

I’m betting it’s because she had the audacity to criticize Michelle-O.

This is what we’ve come to. Criticize the Obamas and you’re blacklisted.
