When Did Roger Ebert Become Such an Asshole?

My apologies for the profanity in the title but there’s just no other way to say it. Roger Ebert has become a real major asshole and I don’t think I know when it happened.

When I was a kid, Roger Ebert was a chubby likable guy who sat in a TV studio made to look like a movie theater audience and talked about movies with his now deceased business partner Gene Siskel.

The Roger Ebert of today is a venomous victim of Bush Derangement Syndrome, Palin Derangement Syndrome and Tea Party Hatred Disorder all wrapped up in one. Does he even care about movies anymore?

Today, Ebert snidely Tweeted out: Tea-Baggers: How do you score on this civics and literacy test?

When Scott Brown won the Massachusetts senate race, Ebert obnoxiously Twittered: Massachusetts to Teddy: “F–k You.”

On January 14th, Ebert published an article in which he suggested Rush Limbaugh should be “horse whipped.”

“You should be horse-whipped for the insult you have paid to the highest office of our nation.”

Who is this asshole and what has he done with Roger Ebert the film critic?

Pam Meister at Big Hollywood notes that Ebert is alienating many of his own fans.

Did Ebert stop to consider how many of those ”teabaggers” might be Ebert fans who follow him on Twitter? I wonder how many of them read his movie reviews for guidance on their entertainment choices. But like so many of the entertainment world elite, if you disagree with him, you’re a dumbkopf who deserves to be insulted, regardless of whether or not you are a consumer of his product.

David Horowitz of NewsRealBlog notices that Ebert’s politics have even worked their way into his reviews.

But like the rest of the liberal press since the Bush Administration, Ebert has become more openly partisan, and his reviews—still published under the aegis of the Chicago Sun Times and syndicated to places which have eliminated film critics like my hometown newspaper The Flint Journal– are often nothing but political lectures.

There are many times when someone can “dial it back” when they realize they’ve gone too far. I don’t think Ebert has any plans to do that but it wouldn’t matter for me anyway.

I don’t know what happened to Roger.

Thumbs down.

The Real 9/11 “Truth”

As you may know, there’s a crazy fringe movement in America called “9/11 Truth.” The adherents are typically called “truthers” and they believe the United States government was somehow involved in, or responsible for the 9/11 attacks of 2001.

One of their notorious members was President Obama’s “green jobs czar” Van Jones who was quietly ushered out of the White House when his loony beliefs were made public.

What’s lost on these wingnuts is that there is a very real “truth” about 9/11 that never gets mentioned in our politically correct culture. Simply put, the terrorists who carried out the attacks were Muslim extremists.

Peter Gadiel’s son James was killed on 9/11. He worked in the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Mr. Gadiel wants his son’s hometown memorial to include the words Murdered by Muslim terrorists.” His fellow townsfolk in Kent, Connecticut say no way. Why? Because it might offend someone.

FOX News reports:

“Peter Gadiel wants everyone to remember his son, James, who was killed during the September 11 terrorist attacks.”

“And he also wants people to remember how he died: “Murdered by Muslim terrorists.”James Gadiel

“For Gadiel, any tribute to his son would be woefully incomplete without those words.”

“I think it’s important, because I think there’s a nationwide effort to suppress the identity of the people who were involved in the attacks,” Gadiel told Fox News.

Eight years ago, 23-year-old James Gadiel worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 103rd floor of the World Trade Center. He died when a hijacked plane crashed into the North Tower.

For years, Gadiel’s hometown of Kent, Conn., has wanted to honor the young man with a memorial plaque next to its town hall. But the tribute has hit a snag because James’ father wants to include the phrase, “Murdered by Muslim terrorists,” under his son’s name.

For Peter Gadiel, it is a central fact of the Sept. 11 attacks that is often left out.

“It isn’t just overlooked, it’s suppressed,” Gadiel said. “It’s simply wrong to imply that people just died. The buildings didn’t just collapse, they didn’t just fall down — they were attacked by people with a specific identity, a specific purpose.”

“Town officials call the phrase too controversial for a small town memorial, and they recently voted against erecting the plaque if Gadiel insists on the language.”

“We perceive ourselves as a very warm, loving town,” said Ruth Epstein, a Kent selectman and one of two town leaders to vote the plaque down. “To disparage any one ethnic group is just against everything that we stand for here.”

“Epstein noted that other Sept. 11 memorials, like the one at the Pentagon, don’t mention Muslim terrorists, and she said she does not want to alienate any members of her small and close-knit community.”

“We have at least one Muslim family living here with children and it — it would be just awful to have them see something like that,” Epstein told Fox News.”

“But for Gadiel, it’s an important message that he insists be present on any tribute to his son.”

“Muslims have to acknowledge that it was their co-religionists who committed this act in their name,” he said. “I am offended that unlike so many others, they refuse to acknowledge that it was their people who did this.”

That’s the real 9/11 truth.

The attacks of 9/11 were carried out by Muslim extremists. Does that mean that all Muslims are bad people? Of course not. What it does mean though, is that our culture in America is becoming so politically correct that we can’t say what is true for fear of offending someone.

Unless the people who might be offended are Christians. Big Hollywood has a new report about a comedy TV show, produced by HBO that featured a character peeing on an image of Jesus Christ for laughs.

“Did you happen to see the episode to which I refer? Assuming you did not catch the episode, briefly stated: Larry pisses on the face of a painting of Jesus Christ, followed by mocking of Christians who believe the piss drop on the face of Jesus is a tear, thus they’ve witnessed a miracle.”

“Can you imagine the shit storm that would follow if David pissed on a painting of the prophet Muhammad? Of course, HBO, the complicit scum that they are, would not have allowed that to air.”

For the record, I am not a Muslim or a Christian. I’m just an American who is concerned about the hypocrisy and double standards that are leading our nation away from the truth and common sense.

9/11 “truthers” have found their way into the White House.

Actual victims of 9/11 are being told they’re too insensitive.

George Orwell has never seemed so relevant.

VIDEO: Andrew Breitbart Interviewed on C-SPAN

Andrew Breitbart, the man behind Big Hollywood, Big Government and the exposure of ACORN is interviewed on C-SPAN.

The interview is 27 minutes long so you might want to save this for your lunch hour.

UPDATE: I just watched this whole thing and all I can say is wow. Breitbart is such a trooper. He deals with some of the most idiotic callers I’ve ever heard on a call in show. He holds his own and never caves in. He also does a great job of explaining the relationship between the media and the current political divide in the country.

Well done Mr. Breitbart! Bravo!

Rush Limbaugh, The NFL, Hollywood and the Dangerous Precedent Being Set by the American Left

Dear readers,

I am not a football fan. I coudn’t possibly care less who owns which team or who wins the superbowl. I like Rush Limbaugh but I am no “dittohead.”

This story is about something much bigger. It’s about liberty, slander and what it means to be an American.

Rush Limbaugh writes in today’s Wall Street Journal:

The Race Card, Football and Me…

“David Checketts, an investor and owner of sports teams, approached me in late May about investing in the St. Louis Rams football franchise. As a football fan, I was intrigued. I invited him to my home where we discussed it further. Even after informing him that some people might try to make an issue of my participation, Mr. Checketts said he didn’t much care. I accepted his offer.”

“It didn’t take long before my name was selectively leaked to the media as part of the Checketts investment group. Shortly thereafter, the media elicited comments from the likes of Al Sharpton. In 1998 Mr. Sharpton was found guilty of defamation and ordered to pay $65,000 for falsely accusing a New York prosecutor of rape in the 1987 Tawana Brawley case. He also played a leading role in the 1991 Crown Heights riot (he called neighborhood Jews “diamond merchants”) and 1995 Freddie’s Fashion Mart riot.”

“Not to be outdone, Jesse Jackson, whose history includes anti-Semitic speech (in 1984 he referred to Jews as “Hymies” and to New York City as “Hymietown” in a Washington Post interview) chimed in. He found me unfit to be associated with the NFL. I was too divisive and worse. I was accused of once supporting slavery and having praised Martin Luther King Jr.’s murderer, James Earl Ray.”

“Next came writers in the sports world, like the Washington Post’s Michael Wilbon. He wrote this gem earlier this week: “I’m not going to try and give specific examples of things Limbaugh has said over the years because I screwed up already doing that, repeating a quote attributed to Limbaugh (about slavery) which he has told me he simply did not say and does not reflect his feelings. I take him at his word. . . . “

“Mr. Wilbon wasn’t alone. Numerous sportswriters, CNN, MSNBC, among others, falsely attributed to me statements I had never made. Their sources, as best I can tell, were Wikipedia and each other. But the Wikipedia post was based on a fabrication printed in a book that also lacked any citation to an actual source.”

“I never said I supported slavery and I never praised James Earl Ray. How sick would that be? Just as sick as those who would use such outrageous slanders against me or anyone else who never even thought such things. Mr. Wilbon refuses to take responsibility for his poison pen, writing instead that he will take my word that I did not make these statements; others, like Rick Sanchez of CNN, essentially used the same sleight-of-hand.”

“The sports media elicited comments from a handful of players, none of whom I can recall ever meeting. Among other things, at least one said he would never play for a team I was involved in given my racial views. My racial views? You mean, my belief in a colorblind society where every individual is treated as a precious human being without regard to his race? Where football players should earn as much as they can and keep as much as they can, regardless of race? Those controversial racial views?”

Andrew Breitbart’s Big Hollywood points to another type of NFL team owner:

NFL Owners Who Use the “N” Word and Wet Their Pants on Stage

“Amidst the uproar over Rush Limbaugh having to step aside from his participation in the bid to purchase the NFL’s St. Louis Rams over racially insensitive statements he never actually made, is the fact that current ACTUAL owners of an NFL team have said much worse than the false and the left says nothing.”

“Jennifer Lopez, whose Sondheim-like lyric genius is on display at the top of this post, holds the same status with the Miami Dolphins as Limbaugh would have with the Rams.  And, not only does she have co-writer credit on this offensive drivel, she also recorded and performed it live.  She continues to earn money in royalties for her genius use of the “N-Word.” My guess is that those who took issue with Limbaugh’s imaginary racial slur are OK with J-Lo’s actual racial slur because she looks a lot better in tight pants.”

“Meanwhile, another minority owner of the Dolphins has some controversial issues with public statements as well.  Recently, Dolphins minority owner Serena Williams broke quite a few FCC laws by letting loose an “F-word” filled tirade on live television during the US Open.  Then she menacingly threatened a side judge and was subsequently disqualified.  This kind of behavior and speech seems to be right in line with the NFL’s standards since I missed the press conference from Commissioner Roger Goodell condemning it.”

“Finally, we get to Fergie, some-time member of the Black Eyed Peas and some-time solo artist.  You betcha, she has also been approved as a minority owner of the Miami Dolphins. Fergie is a huge Obama supporter, so I guess the NFL thought it was pretty cool that she just performed her song “Glamorous” at the White House Easter egg hunt… an event for children. Here’s how the DC Examiner reported the event:”

“Lines like “wear them gold and diamond rings” and “I’m not clean, I’m not pristine” may not be the dream lyrics for their daughters to emulate, but the song’s repetition of the line “If you ain’t got no money take your broke a** home” made a few parents cringe. She did of course edit the curse word from the song Monday — but some of crowd members helpfully filled it in for her.”

“It gets better. Earlier this week, Goodell said of Limbaugh’s potential ownership, “Divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about.” Is he splitting hairs between “comments” and “lyrics?” Because these lyrics from a 2003 Black Eyed Peas song sounds pretty divisive to me.”

The American left is setting a very dangerous precedent for all Americans but particularly for themselves.

Average Americans already have their eyes trained on people like Bill Ayers, a man who attacked our country yet retains a prestigious position at a state funded college.

Average Americans hear Hollywood’s laughable defense of the child rapist, Roman Polanski.

Average Americans know the Obama White House is already stained with appointees who are enemies of America.

Do leftists think the American people are going to forget any of this when Obama is no longer the President in four or eight years?

Everything is being documented.

Your positions on what is considered politically acceptable are duly noted on every issue.

Four or eight years from now, you will cry out in defiance. How you act now will determine whether your objections are heard or simply fall on deaf ears.

You have been warned.

Bush Administration Caught Using Taxpayer Funded Propaganda to Further Neocon Agenda

The title of this post isn’t true unless you change “Bush” to “Obama” and change “Neocon” to “Progressive.”

The National Endowment for the Arts is being used to create taxpayer funded propaganda to further the agenda of the Obama Administration. Once again, Andrew Breitbart delivers. Patrick Courrielche, a blogger at Big Hollywood has an amazing new report today. This must-read includes explosive audio and you can open it by clicking the quote below.

“The NEA and the White House did encourage a handpicked, pro-Obama arts group to address politically controversial issues under contentious national debate. That fact is irrefutable.”

One of the White House operatives involved in this NEA debacle is a woman named Buffy Wicks. She works for Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett and guess what… She has ties to ACORN.

“BigGovernment.com continues to wake-up America to Obama Administration relationships with ACORN and Big Labor.  BigGov’s  latest story highlights Presidential Advisor Valerie Jarrett’s crew member Buffy Wicks who is the former political director of forced union dues financed WakeupWalmart.com”

VIDEO: Glenn Beck Reports on Obama’s Attempt to Propagandize the National Endowment for the Arts

We scooped Glenn Beck on this last week. The reason we were able to do so is the guest he is featuring in this clip, a filmmaker who blogs at Big Hollywood named Patrick Courrielche.

Last week, Courrielche wrote a story where he detailed a creepy conference call with the NEA during which government officials were encouraging artists to use their skills to promote the Obama agenda.

The NEA is FTFO (freaking the fuck out) because Courrielche recorded the call and played excerpts of it on Glenn Beck today. The NEA is actually denying the facts now. Courrielche has written a new follow-up piece you should read called UPDATE: What the NEA Says Vs. Documented Facts. The piece contains screen captures of official emails and new art propaganda created under the new “plan.”

Here is Courrielche on Glenn Beck today:

Great News! The National Endowment for the Arts is Now Going to Fund Obama Propaganda With Your Tax Dollars!

ogandaPatrick Courrielche, an artist who blogs at Big Hollywood, writes of an interesting conference call he was invited to by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Can you say creepy?

“I recently wrote a critique of the art community’s lack of dissent in the face of many controversial decisions made by the current administration. Entitled “The Artist Formerly Known as Dissident,” one of the key points argued in the article was the potential danger associated with the use of the art community as a tool of the state. Little did I know how quickly this concern would be elevated to an outright probability.”

“Sometime between when I finished the critique and when it went live online, I was invited by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to take part in a conference call that invited a group of rising artist and art community luminaries “to help lay a new foundation for growth, focusing on core areas of the recovery agenda – health care, energy and environment, safety and security, education, community renewal.”

“Backed by the full weight of President Barack Obama’s call to service and the institutional weight of the NEA, the conference call was billed as an opportunity for those in the art community to inspire service in four key categories, and at the top of the list were “health care” and “energy and environment.” The service was to be attached to the President’s United We Serve campaign, a nationwide federal initiative to make service a way of life for all Americans.”

“It sounded, how should I phrase it…unusual, that the NEA would invite the art community to a meeting to discuss issues currently under vehement national debate.”

I think the word unusual is an understatement. I might have used a term like third-world-dictator-ish.

Just so we’re clear on what is happening here: The federal government is taking the tax money of American citizens and “awarding” it to artists who will use their talents to create propaganda which advances Obama’s agenda.

Ace points to Obama’s inflated sense of self as an additional reason for this:

“Ever think you can get away with doing something, probably, but then stop yourself from doing it because you don’t like where it might lead you? That is, your super-ego checks in and argues “Can you really trust yourself entirely?” and, being not altogether confident in your own integrity and capacity to resist temptation, you refrain from taking the problematic action?”

“Yeah, well, Obama has no idea what I’m talking about.”

“You know, I don’t drop the N-word much (Nazi, I mean), but seriously, if you don’t want to be called a Nazi, stop doing Nazi stuff.”

“Remember, before the NEA told them to, photographers and mainstream magazines were shooting Obama with halos and nimbuses (yes, nimbi, whatever) suggesting that he was in fact The Risen Christ.”

“Now, if the artistic community is already portraying you, ludicrously and blasphemously, as a deity, is it really necessary to ask them to work on your behalf?”

I can answer that last question, Ace. It’s necessary if you start to believe the media’s deification bullshit story about you. As most of us already suspected, Obama is drinking his own Kool-Aid.

The Queen Is Dead, Karma Catches Up With Perez Hilton

ph

Andrew Breitbart writing at Big Hollywood, notes the irony of Perez Hilton being brought down essentially by political correctness.

“Mario Lavandeira, the mean-spirited impresario behind the celebrity-obsessed mega-Web site PerezHilton.com, was left scratching his pink-tinged pompadour last week, wondering aloud in a campy cry-baby YouTube classic why, after being physically assaulted in public, he is now universally scorned and widely considered the villain of an incident that left him appropriately “black eyed.”

“Aside from the basic rules of karma, here’s why: The calculus of political correctness is like roshambo, the “rock-paper-scissors” game. Different identity groups hold specific levels of power over others when their battles play out in the media. To wit: Black beats white. Gay beats white. Black beats gay.”

“Don’t ask why. It just is.”

You can also read the whole thing in the Washington Times, right HERE.

While I’m at it, I recommend you listen to this segment from the Opie and Anthony Radio Show where they mercilessly tear up Perez Hilton over the whole Will.I.Am situation. Warning, lots of language that’s NSFW.
