That would be Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D) of Rhode Island. He suggested on the senate floor, that this is the only reason people oppose ObamaCare. You know… 61% of the American people.

“They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one.”

Sarah Palin is finally getting back at the hardcore Obama supporters known as the “Birthers.”

The birthers are a fringe left-wing political movement who are advancing an absurd theory that Sarah Palin didn’t actually give birth to her youngest infant child, Trig.

The leader of the birther movement is Andrew Sullivan, a British citizen and blogger who has been living in the United States for years, trying to influence American politics despite the fact that he – unlike Sarah Palin – is not an American citizen and can’t vote in American elections.

Sullivan is a gay man, yet he is strangely obsessed with Sarah Palin’s reproductive organs.

Sarah Palin appeared on the Rusty Humphries Radio Show today and advocated a smear campaign against President Obama for 2012 which was considerably less nasty than the one Obama supporters used against her in 2008.

Liberals were predictably outraged.

“How dare that sexist c–t use our own smear tactics against us!”

Said an unidentified sophomore at U Mass, Amherst as she clung to a tattered copy of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”

A young man in a flannel shirt also piped up.

“The Republicans are fascists who want everyone to think the same way. You can ask all of my friends and they’ll tell you the exact same thing!”

University authorities could not be reached for comment.

First the Progressives tried to convince people that all Republicans and Conservatives are BIRTHERS.

Now, anyone who opposes ObamaCare is suddenly a DEATHER.

Has anyone considered the irony of a political group which supports late term abortions running around calling other people “deathers?”

Plain and simple.

The number of wingnuts who are promoting the idea that President Obama wasn’t born in this country is miniscule. To listen to the left and their allies in the media, you would think it was an ad campaign being paid for by the RNC.

This is being done deliberately and for a reason. The left sees the “Birther” controversy as a political anchor and they’re trying to tie it tightly around the necks of conservatives and Republicans. This is nothing more than a concerted effort to discredit the people the left sees as enemies and their message is loud and clear: Conservatives and Republicans are crazy and out of touch.

Why else would the Daily KOS be paying for polls on the subject? I will not link to the Daily KOS but you can read about the poll at Hot Air. Frankly, I wouldn’t trust anything put forth by the Daily KOS as accurate or non-partisan.

There has been a media shitstorm raging all week about this stupid subject. At every opportunity, left leaning activists on the web and in the media, in other words Obama’s base, have been pushing the “Birther” story as something all conservatives believe. That is not only untrue, it’s ridiculous.

But as long as we’re on the subject of conspiracy theories, lets talk about the Democrats and the 9/11 Truthers, shall we?

It wasn’t that long ago that people were planning 9/11 Truth House Parties on the pages of Democrats.com.

“Congressman Dennis Kucinich has just announced that he will begin holding new hearings into 9/11 beginning in September because “the Commission Final Report… never resolved certain conflicts.” The acclaimed film 9/11 Press For Truth details those conflicts like no other movie has, featuring five members of the 9/11 Family Steering Committee (the small group of victim’s relatives who forced the creation of the 9/11 Commission), who revealed for the first time in the movie that “70% of our questions” were not answered by the Final Report.”

“We thought the country was at risk from terrorists and from incompetence,” says Jersey widow Lorie Van Auken in the movie, “and maybe worse.” Fellow ‘Jersey Girl’ Patty Casazza puts it more succinctly: “They lied. They all lied.” With an election year looming, it is more important than ever that we demand Congressional hearings that will finally provide the answers these families have devoted over five years of their lives toward.”

Another page on the same site explains to members that the Bush Administration was directly involved in the events of 9/11 and therefore needs to be tried for treason…

“I think that a new and truly independent investigation into the attacks of 9/11 would be the best way to move toward Impeachment. There is more than enough evidence of high level government involvement in the attacks to Indict the entire Bush Administration for High Crimes and Treason. This would be a better way to get rid of them since any possibility of a future Presidential Pardon simply couldn’t happen.”

Oh and let’s not forget our friends at Democratic Underground who in 2004, asked the question “Is 9/11 truth the only way to remove the Bush-Cheney Regime?

“The Bush Adminstration and it agencies never could prove their version of what happened on 9/11/2001 and who did it in an open Constitutional court. They knew they wouldn’t be able to uphold their lie, so well in advance of 9/11 Ashcroft had drawn up the Patriot Acts so no embarrassing trials would happen to to destroy their 9/11 myth.”

“So ultimately, the Democrats have nothing to lose by telling the terrible truth about the Bush Administration and 9/11 at long last. But is there any chance of the truth getting out before the next election, so that Kerry wins and the Bush-Cheney Regime is eliminated? Or in time to impeach Bush and Cheney before they go and start another war?”

Got that everyone? George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were behind 9/11. They planned and executed an attack against their own country and therefore should be tried for treason.

So sayeth the party that now wants to paint all conservatives as wingnuts.

What a short memory they have.
