IRONY ALERT: Dems Think FOX News Should Have a Disclaimer

The Democratic Governors Association has its panties in a bunch because Rupert Murdoch’s company News Corp. gave one million dollars to the Republican Governors Association. CNN reports…

With the knowledge that Fox News’ parent company recently cut a $1 million check to the Republican Governors Association, the leader of the Democratic Governors Association is calling on the cable news network to run a “formal disclaimer” when it covers gubernatorial races. “I request that you add a formal disclaimer to your news coverage any time any of your programs cover governors or gubernatorial races between now and Election Day,” DGA executive director Nathan Daschle wrote in the letter to Roger Ailes.

My reaction in two words: SO WHAT?

As I’m sure the Democratic Governors Association is aware, so called “objective journalists” donated more money to Barack Obama than John McCain in the 2008 presidential election by a ratio greater than 10 to 1…

An analysis of federal election records shows that the amount of money journalists contributed so far this election cycle favors Democrats by a 15:1 margin over Republicans, with $225,563 going to Democrats, only $16,298 to Republicans .

235 journalists donated to Democrats, just 20 gave to Republicans — a margin greater than 10:1. An even greater disparity, 20:1, exists between the number of journalists who donated to Barack Obama and John McCain.

Searches for other newsroom categories (reporters, correspondents, news editors, anchors, newspaper editors and publishers) produces 311 donors to Democrats to 30 donors to Republicans, a ratio of just over 10:1. In terms of money, $279,266 went to Dems, $20,709 to Republicans, a 14:1 ratio.

By those standards, maybe the news network truly in need of a disclaimer is every single one except FOX News.

Talk about an inconvenient truth.

Obama Administration Blocking Media Access to Oil Spill Says… Anderson Cooper

Transparency!

Kudos to CNN’s Anderson Cooper for exposing this outrage. Anderson doesn’t name Obama personally and continually references Admiral Thad Allen, the guy the Obama Administration appointed to deal with the situation, but smart people know from whom Admiral Allen takes his orders.

To use one of the president’s favorite phrases, let me be clear. The only reason the media is being blocked from open access to the oil spill is that Obama’s response has been a PR nightmare for the White House.

Had Captain Priorities flown in on wings of competence and solved the problem before now, the media would not only have access, they’d be invited to a seaside press conference.

Meet CNN’s Shiny New Hire

How desperate is CNN for ratings? This desperate….

Want your own TV news show? Just run for public office on a sanctimonious pro-law enforcement campaign and then get caught repeatedly cheating on your wife with a HOOKER!

Washington (CNN)Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer and 2010 Pulitzer Prize winning columnist Kathleen Parker will co-host a new hour long CNN primetime news program starting in the fall as the nation prepares for the 2010 midterm election, the network announced Wednesday morning.

The yet-to-be-named “roundtable discussion” program will air at 8 p.m. ET replacing Campbell Brown.

Why Kathleen Parker agreed to this is beyond me.

NOTE: The formula described above only works if you’re a Democrat.

Clueless Media Headline of the Day by CNN: “We Got the President We Elected”

Is CNN admitting that they’re part of the liberal media machine that hid Obama’s radical social connections while hyping his non-existent executive experience? Yeah, probably…

He was elected because he is cool, calm and analytical. That’s what we wanted to see after George W. Bush, so we made him president. But now the disaster in the Gulf has made many of us want to see someone else — with plenty of anger, emotion and bravado. We want him to yell at BP. We want him to loudly tell us he’s whipping the cleanup effort into shape.

We can’t tell BP ourselves, so we want him to do it for us.

Fair enough. But that’s not the person we elected.

Please don’t count me in that “we.”

I’m actually looking forward to saying “I told you so.”

Obama Suddenly Finds Time to Meet With Arizona Governor Jan Brewer

This should go over well with his base…

President Obama intends to meet with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Thursday, a White House official told FoxNews.com, after criticism mounted over reports the president wouldn’t be able to meet her while she is in Washington this week.

Brewer had requested a face-to-face meeting with Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, the former Arizona governor, as tensions rise between his administration and the Grand Canyon State over its controversial law clamping down on illegal immigrants.

The White House denies that Obama snubbed Brewer, saying there initially were some scheduling issues this week that have been resolved.

I look forward to the “Let Me Be Clear” announcement that he fully supported Jan Brewer and Arizona all along. That could happen if he finally, you know, reads the bill? Jack Cafferty knows what I’m talking about…

Someone is Lying, Joe Sestak or the White House

Joe Sestak claimed months ago that he was offered a job by the White House if he would drop out of the Pennsylvania Democratic primary to make way for Obama approved loser, Arlen Specter.

Now everyone is trying to change the story.

Someone is lying.

Is it this sniveling, squirming, back tracker?

Or is it the oily, double speaking, spin-meister?

Sorry, but that whole we investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong thing, doesn’t cut it.

The charges, if true, are an impeachable offense.

The Other McCain and The Daley Gator link! Thanks!

War is Peace, Ignorance is Strength, Obama Won’t Take Questions After Signing “Freedom of Press” Act

I have sometimes been asked why American Glob is no longer a parody news site. My answer is that if you pay attention to the real news, there’s no need for parody.

Here’s a perfect example:

Washington (CNN) – After the signing of the Freedom of Press Act on Monday, President Obama declined to take any questions from the press.

During a pooled press event in the Oval Office, President Obama was asked if he would take a couple questions.

“You’re certainly free to ask the question,” Obama told the reporters in the room. “I won’t be answering, I’m not doing a press conference today, but we’ll be seeing you in the course of the week.”

So far, Chip Reid of CBS News is the only member of the MSM that I’m aware of, who recognizes this for what it is…

There was some rich irony at the White House today — President Obama signed the Press Freedom Act, and then promptly refused to take any questions. [SNIP] He said he’s not holding a press conference today as we were escorted out the door.
