Dick Cheney. Doing his part to drive liberals insane.

The second half of this interview airs tonight.
Posted in Dick Cheney, FOX News, News, Obama, Sean Hannity, Video, interview, politicsThe Democrat talking point of the day is that they aren’t afraid of Kalid Sheikh Mohammed like all the wimpy conservatives who don’t want him tried in New York. Another classic example of liberals putting politics above national security.
Attorney General Eric Holder, defending his Obama’s decision to try KSM in New York said:
“I’m not scared of what Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has to say at trial and no one else needs to be afraid either,” Holder said. “We need not cower in the face of this enemy.”
Right on cue, liberal venom spewer Markos Moulitsas followed up with:
“American liberals are tough on terrorists and secure in their knowledge that the Sept. 11 conspirators are guilty of mass murder. American conservatives are timid cowards who fear that the U.S. government can’t actually prove that the Sept. 11 killers committed their heinous crimes.”
How is it cowardly to want KSM tried in a military tribunal and executed?
What’s really cowardly is that liberals can only advance their agenda through back doors in the dark of night since their ideas never survive the forum of public scrutiny.
What Holder, KOS, and company really want is a referendum on Bush, Cheney and company.
They can’t do it out in the open so they’re sacrificing national security to sneak it in through the back door and hoping no one notices.
That, my friends, is cowardice.

One of the highlights of the speech was his remarks on the situation in Afghanistan. The video is twenty-five minutes long.
If you have the time, I recommend watching the whole thing. Cheney really goes after Obama on national security and the danger of putting politics before safety. He also reveals that the Obama Administration used the plan for Afghanistan that was handed to them by the Bush Administration, despite the fact that team O continually runs around claiming otherwise.

Frankly, it’s hard to keep track of his position.
Vice President Dick Cheney is for it. Moe Lane of RedState.com is for it. I’m for it.
What’s Obama’s position?
“The answer my friend, is blowin’ in the wind. The answer is blowin’ in the wind…”

Of course Dick Cheney is not going to run for president in 2012, but it’s fun to think about. Can you IMAGINE the presidential debate???
James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal penned a piece today that’s causing quite a ruckus on the left.
“If the Bush administration’s policies really did keep us safe for 7½ years, then it stands to reason that the Obama administrations’ policies may be endangering us now. Certainly that is how the public would see it in the event of another terrorist attack.”
“If that happens, heaven forbid, Obama will be seen to have failed in the most basic presidential duty, and the Bush administration will be vindicated. As inconceivable as it may seem today, the 2012 election may end up turning on national security. Republicans would be wise to nominate someone with both toughness and experience. Under such circumstances, it’s hard to think of a better candidate–assuming, of course, that he could be persuaded to run–than Richard B. Cheney.”
Allahpundit at Hot Air is more skeptical than I am and cites three good reasons why this wouldn’t happen. The last one is the most important.
“his [Cheney's] candidacy would end up being a referendum on the Bush years, which is just about the only way to fire up the liberal base enough to turn out in droves in 2012.”
Hey, if Cheney decides he wants to run that’s up to him. I’m betting he will be more interested in writing his memoirs. If, however he does run, I’ll borrow a famous quote from the man of steel himself… “So?”

Krauthammer’s interpretation is particularly interesting in this case because he is not only speaking as a political analyst but also as a trained psychiatrist by pointing out the “breaking point” of the human mind. Don’t worry Liberal readers, he’s talking about Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, not you.

Via the Weekly Standard:
Dick Cheney’s full statement:
“The documents released Monday clearly demonstrate that the individuals subjected to Enhanced Interrogation Techniques provided the bulk of intelligence we gained about al Qaeda. This intelligence saved lives and prevented terrorist attacks. These detainees also, according to the documents, played a role in nearly every capture of al Qaeda members and associates since 2002. The activities of the CIA in carrying out the policies of the Bush Administration were directly responsible for defeating all efforts by al Qaeda to launch further mass casualty attacks against the United States. The people involved deserve our gratitude. They do not deserve to be the targets of political investigations or prosecutions. President Obama’s decision to allow the Justice Department to investigate and possibly prosecute CIA personnel, and his decision to remove authority for interrogation from the CIA to the White House, serves as a reminder, if any were needed, of why so many Americans have doubts about this Administration’s ability to be responsible for our nation’s security.”
Vice President Cheney is a great American who cares about the security of our nation. He has every right to enjoy his retirement in peace. Instead, he continues to defend our nation and her safety.
The leftist liberal media have vilified Dick Cheney repeatedly but history will be far kinder to Dick Cheney than they could ever imagine.

Chief Obama propagandist David Axelrod, the man who wrote the vacuous slogan “yes we can,” has a vested interest in the passage of ObamaCare. It’s making him rich.
Axelrod’s former firm, for which his son still works, is AKPD Media and they are being paid by an organization called Health Economy Now to help push ObamaCare. Health Economy Now includes big PHARMA, the SEIU and the AARP. The conflict of interest? AKPD owes David Axelrod a lot of money.
See how many hands wash the others?
David Axelrod helps to pass ObamaCare. ObamaCare passes, AKPD has more money. AKPD gives money to David Axelrod. Everyone is happy!
Hugh Hewitt of Town Hall busted this wide open yesterday.
“If Axelrod has been negotiating any part of any deal involving any of these players which are funneling money to the firm that owes him money, or if he is advising the president on the deals with any of these groups, that’s a conflict of interest. Laundering the money through a “coalition” doesn’t remove the conflict much less the appearance of impropriety. The coalition is in effect partially funding David Axelrod’s severance package though its members might have done so unknowingly. These forthcoming payments to Axelrod are much more significant than the sort of “retained ties” that Democrats blasted Dick Cheney for vis-a-vis Halliburton even though there was no high level negotiations between the vice president and his former company.”
Like Hewitt, Michelle Malkin, author of Culture of Corruption, cites an important Bloomberg article on this subject and makes the following point:
“Now, Bloomberg’s Timothy Burger brings news about Axelrod’s latest health care conflicts of interest that will come as no surprise to those who have fully informed themselves of the Chicago way. While White House press secretary Robert Gibbs assails the motives of grass-roots activists by falsely smearing the movement as corporate-funded shills, Barack Obama’s own senior adviser and chief Astroturfer raked in millions of dollars from Big Pharma.”
This story is beginning to take root in the mainstream press and is currently on the front page of the Politico:
“Critics of President Obama’s health-care overhaul are zeroing in on his senior adviser, whose former partners at a Chicago-based firm are the beneficiaries of huge ad buys—now at $24 million and counting—by White House allies in the reform fight.”
Not too long ago, our friends on the left cared about supposed conflicts of interest. In fact, they couldn’t shut up about it. Now? Not so much. Ed Morrissey at Hot Air is waiting for the outrage from the left but isn’t holding his breath.
Of course, it has never been proven that Dick Cheney had any conflict of interest where Halliburton was concerned but that never stopped the left. If you want a good laugh, watch the great Halliburton protest of 2007 below.
