CLASSIC VIDEO: Buckley and Goldwater in 1966

Amazing. This was 1966. Everything that's old is new again. Money quote from Barry Goldwater: "This is one of the troubles that the liberals get into. They become so doctrinaire, so conformist that if you don't fit their little mold right down to your little pinkies, you're no liberal and I don't want to see the conservatives ever get in that fix."

Amazing. This was 1966.

Everything that’s old is new again. Money quote from Barry Goldwater in Part I (on politics):

“This is one of the troubles that the liberals get into. They become so doctrinaire, so conformist that if you don’t fit their little mold right down to your little pinkies, you’re no liberal and I don’t want to see the conservatives ever get in that fix.”

Money quote from Goldwater in Part II (on Medicare):

“We [conservatives] should be constantly encouraging the congress to go slow, take it easy, study, research.”

The Huffington Post Doesn’t Care About America

The Huffington Post cares about partisanship.

The Huffington Post cares about their idealized version of America and everyone else can go to hell.

The Huffington Post cares about protecting Barack Obama from any criticism and immediately labels anyone who dissents as a “racists” and “whores.”

The Huffington Post cares about people who murdered Americans and committed acts of domestic terrorism.

The Huffington Post cares about the rights of 9/11 terrorists.

The Huffington Post cares about Michelle Obama’s clothes.

The Huffington Post cares about Sarah Palin’s clothes.

The Huffington Post doesn’t care about America.

The Huffington Post certainly doesn’t care about journalistic integrity.

You Will Be Assimilated

Jim Geraghty notes Obama’s non-stop fundraising has some creepy goals:

“The organization, known internally as “Barack Obama 2.0,” is being designed to sustain a grass-roots network of millions that was mobilized last year to elect Obama and now is widely considered the country’s most potent political machine.

People familiar with the plan say Obama’s team would use the network in part to pressure lawmakers — particularly wavering Democrats — to help him pass complex legislation on the economy, healthcare and energy . . .”

Then, a creepy update Friday:

“The proposal is now starting to sound like what happens when project meetings get out of control. “They’ll help elect Democrats to Congress! And they’ll pressure wavering lawmakers! And, hey, what if we promised they’ll mobilize in natural disasters! And they could fight crime! And they’ll have special uniforms!”

I wonder if they’ll walk around with clipboards and make notes of names and addresses of anyone who dissents?
