HuffPo: We Should Welcome More Mosques In America

Huffington Post writer Kari Ansari makes a case for more mosques in America…

We ought to welcome the growth of Islam in America for one reason: Muslims in America are fast becoming the model of intelligent and progressive Islam for the entire Muslim world. Muslim Americans have all the ingredients at hand to nurture the most reasoned and learned scholars, thinkers and leaders. This is a good thing for America and the rest of the planet.

I wonder if Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, the woman recently sentenced to death by stoning in Iran, would agree with that plan? Paging the National Organization for Women…

Iran has put fresh pressure on the woman it last month sentenced to death by stoning, demanding the names of those involved in the campaign for her release.

The case of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani has drawn international attention after her children launched a campaign for her release. After a global outcry last month, Iran’s judiciary said Sakineh would not be put to death by stoning, but still faced execution by hanging.

Note the following line from the Huffington Post article, emphasis mine.

“Muslims in America are fast becoming the model of intelligent and progressive Islam for the entire Muslim world.”

The Democratic Party in America has already sold its soul to Progressive Socialists and Progressive Marxists. What happens to America when young liberals start identifying with Progressive Islam?

Oh right, that’s already happening.

VIDEO: Media Giant Mort Zuckerman Says He Wrote a Speech For Obama

Here’s more unsurprising proof of media collusion in the election of Barack Obama.

Mort Zuckerman, who Gateway Pundit notes is a pretty influential media fixture, admitted on Your World With Neil Cavuto today that he wrote a speech for Obama.

Apparently, Mort no longer likes Obama so Gawker, the eternal Obama defender, has rushed to discredit Mort Zuckerman. Ironically, they revealed an even more damning fact in the process…

He used to date noted liberal skank, Arianna Huffington.

I, for one, am shocked.

HuffPo Called Katrina “Bush” Disaster, but BP Oil Mess is “America’s” Fault

This is fair reporting, right?

HuffPo then:

Dems on Bush’s Katrina Disaster

Congress’ top two Democrats furiously criticized the administration’s response to Hurricane Katrina on Wednesday, with Sen. Harry Reid demanding to know whether President Bush’s Texas vacation impeded relief efforts and Rep. Nancy Pelosi assailing the chief executive as “oblivious, in denial.”

HuffPo now:

America’s Pathetic Response

Shame on us.

A calamity is unfolding before our eyes – the greatest oil spill in history – and America’s response is little more than a big yawn.

No wonder Obama wants people to read the Huffington Post.

They don’t even seem to know President Obama spent yesterday playing golf.

WaPo Vs. HuffPo? Who Can Tell The Difference?

Ben Smith at The Politico asks the burning question that’s keeping everyone awake at night. Washington Post or Huffington Post?

The once-cautious Washington Post has begun to invest heavily in the liberal blogosphere, transforming its online presence – a combination of accident and design – into a competitor of the Huffington Post and TalkingPointsMemo as much as the New York Times.

The Post’s foray into the new media world received some unfavorable attention last weekend when its latest hire, Dave Weigel, who covers conservatives, referred to gay marriage foes as “bigots.” But the resulting controversy brought into relief a larger shift: The Post now hosts three of the strongest liberal blogs on the Internet, and draws a disproportionate share of its traffic and buzz from them, a significant change for a traditional newspaper that has struggled to remake itself.

Who can tell the difference? Has everyone forgotten that little incident in July of 2009 when the editor of the Washington Post was caught red handed selling access to the Obama Administration?

The Washington Post’s ill-fated plan to sell sponsorships of off-the-record “salons” was an ethical lapse of monumental proportions.

Publisher Katharine Weymouth and Executive Editor Marcus Brauchli have now taken full responsibility for what was envisioned as a series of 11 intimate dinners to discuss public policy issues. For a fee of up to $25,000, underwriters were guaranteed a seat at the table with lawmakers, administration officials, think tank experts, business leaders and the heads of associations.

Furthermore, it’s worthy to note that in a recent article by Byron York of the Washington Examiner, titled The Top 10 Dumbest Things Said About the Arizona Immigration Law, The Washington Post won the contest hands-down with 3 out of 10. Even The Huffington Post only scored a 1.

Robert Stacy McCain sums it up perfectly.

As long as you get the facts right, who gives a damn about “bias” or “favoritism”?

Favoritism from the Washington Post doesn’t count for much anyway.

Just ask Creigh Deeds.

Three Reasons Why Crist’s Independent Run is Doomed

I’ll try to keep this simple. Here we go…

1. His staff is already abandoning ship.

At least three members of Florida Gov. Charlie Crist’s campaign staff resigned on Thursday shortly after Crist announced he is quitting the Republican Party and running for Senate as an independent.

2. Marco Rubio isn’t “entitled.” A smart commenter at Hot Air summed it up, perfectly.

Crist is exactly the type of politician the Tea Parties were formed to eliminate.

3. The Huffington Post has already conceded.

With Crist still in the Senate race as an independent candidate come election day, nothing will stop Marco Rubio from taking over.

Hot Air’s Allahpundit described Crist’s speech yesterday as “repulsive.”

Smitty reports that Crist is already being kicked to the curb by the NRSC.

Here’s The Bottom Line: Charlie Crist has already proved himself a liar and American voters have had enough of that.

Hope you had a nice flight, Charlie.

Buh-bye.

Was Leboon The Loon a Huffington Poster?

Obama donor and generally batshit crazy leftist Norman Leboon has been arrested for making death threats to Republican Eric Cantor. Michelle Malkin has all the details here.

But some crafty internet searchers at Free Republic dug up this little morsel which I have screen capped for posterity.

Was Norman “The Loon” Leboon a HuffPoster? Sure looks that way. Click the image to enlarge.

The Huffington Post Finds Religion

Mediabistro reports that the Huffington Post is suddenly interested in religion. Hallelujah…

Today’s top story is an open letter from Raushenbush to “Religious (and sane) America.” In it, he promises that “HuffPost Religion will demonstrate the vibrant diversity of religious traditions, perspectives and experiences that exist alongside and inform one another in America and throughout the world.” He goes on to highlight the positive aspects of religion and — of course — invites users to submit content to the site. Below the article are images of books written by Raushenbush. Click on one, and a pop-up window invites you to buy it.

Other articles focus on the issues one typically sees addressed on the HuffPost, with a God angle tacked on. Examples: “Gays in the Military: A Religious Issue?”; “Judaism, Ethics, and Ecology”; and “The Great Recession: A Spiritual Crisis.”

In a statement announcing the launch, Arianna Huffington said, “All too often, when talking about it, we end up talking at each other instead of with each other.”

Off in the sidebar is one more link: “Elton John In ‘Parade’: Jesus Was Gay.”

Hmm…

I think I’ll stick with Beliefnet and DOGMATRON.

The Left Still Doesn’t Get it

Obama and his supporters on the left still don’t get it. They seem to have no idea that a majority of Americans just don’t like their policy agenda.

That’s why we end up with stupid articles from the Huffington Post about how America has become “ungovernable.”

Bill Clinton had two years on “offense,” when he tried to push an ambitious domestic agenda, followed by six years on “defense,” after his party lost control of Congress in 1994. Barack Obama, despite his determined posture in his State of the Union address, seems to have gotten just one year on “offense,” now that Scott Brown’s Senate win has Democrats running scared. When a 59-41 Senate majority plus a substantial edge in the House is deemed too slender a margin on which to enact a relatively centrist health reform, we may as well ask it out loud: has America become ungovernable?

We also get venom from people like TIME’s Joe Klein who blames all of Obama’s failures on the American people, who are just a bunch of dumb horses, too stupid to be led to water.

Absolutely amazing poll results from CNN today about the $787 stimulus package: nearly three out of four Americans think the money has been wasted. On second thought, they may be right: it’s been wasted on them.

David Harsanyi posted an excellent article yesterday at Reason.com which pointed out two things.

1. Government needs more checks and balances, not less.

2. The American left is full of shit.

Observe his awesome awesomeness…

If you’ve been paying attention to the left-wing punditry these days, you may be under the impression that the nation’s institutions are on the verge of collapse. Or that the rule of law is unraveling. Or maybe that this once-great nation is crippled and nearly beyond repair.

You know why? Because the 40 percent (or so) political minority has far too much influence in Washington. Don’t you know? This minority, egged on by a howling mob of nitwits, is holding progress hostage using its revolting politics and parliamentary trickery.

Leading the charge to fix this dire problem is New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, who advocates abolishing the Senate filibuster to make way for direct democracy’s magic.

It had better be quick. The populace is fickle. Jacob Weisberg of Slate believes that Americans are crybabies who don’t know what’s good for ‘em, causing “political paralysis.” Even President Barack Obama, after his agenda had come to a halt, claimed democracy is a “messy” process—as if that were a bad thing.

Imagine that we were living in an America where Republicans had control of the executive and legislative branches of government. Rich Lowry of National Review pens a piece saying that America has become “ungovernable.” Sean Hannity of FOX News devotes an entire program to the subject of “ending the Senate filibuster.”

Would the Paul Krugmans, Joe Kleins and Huffington Posters of America be nodding along in unison then?

Somehow, I doubt it.

VIDEO: In Which Roger Ailes of FOX News Makes Arianna Huffington Look Like the Total Hypocrite She Is

Today on “This Week” guests Roger Ailes, the CEO of FOX News and Arianna Huffington had an interesting exchange where Huffinton tried to suggest to Ailes that FOX spreads misinformation and paranoia. The reply given by Ailes is excellent.

Here’s the video:

How ridiculous of Arianna to sit there and suggest that FOX promotes paranoia, meanness and misinformation. Has she never read her own publication? Did she miss these gems?

Sarah Palin Wades Into ClimateGate, Tells Obama to Boycott Copenhagen

This should send the left into fits. Sarah Palin has written an op-ed piece for the Washington Post regarding Copenhagen and ClimateGate. I’m publishing a few excerpts from the piece below.

“Climate-gate,” as the e-mails and other documents from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia have become known, exposes a highly politicized scientific circle — the same circle whose work underlies efforts at the Copenhagen climate change conference. The agenda-driven policies being pushed in Copenhagen won’t change the weather, but they would change our economy for the worse.”

“This scandal obviously calls into question the proposals being pushed in Copenhagen. I’ve always believed that policy should be based on sound science, not politics. As governor of Alaska, I took a stand against politicized science when I sued the federal government over its decision to list the polar bear as an endangered species despite the fact that the polar bear population had more than doubled. I got clobbered for my actions by radical environmentalists nationwide, but I stood by my view that adding a healthy species to the endangered list under the guise of “climate change impacts” was an abuse of the Endangered Species Act. This would have irreversibly hurt both Alaska’s economy and the nation’s, while also reducing opportunities for responsible development.”

“Our representatives in Copenhagen should remember that good environmental policymaking is about weighing real-world costs and benefits — not pursuing a political agenda. That’s not to say I deny the reality of some changes in climate — far from it. I saw the impact of changing weather patterns firsthand while serving as governor of our only Arctic state.”

“What Obama really hopes to bring home from Copenhagen is more pressure to pass the Democrats’ cap-and-tax proposal. This is a political move. The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs — particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science.”

“Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicized conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen.”

AND right on cue, the Huffington Post is not only going after Palin but attacking the Washington Post just for publishing her piece.

“Wednesday’s edition of the Washington Post features an op-ed by Sarah Palin, who reprises her call — first made in a Facebook post last week — for President Obama to “boycott” the major climate talks in Copenhagen due to the “Climate-gate” controversy (actually a non-controversy).”

“The reaction to Palin’s latest piece, however, is focused not on what she wrote, but on the fact that the Washington Post chose to run it in the first place.”

Unbelievable.
