The British government has a new idea that sounds frighteningly familiar. They want to label Jewish goods from Israel in case, you know, anyone wants to boycott them…

“The British government has issued an official recommendation urging business owners to mark Israeli products produced in West Bank settlements so that consumers who want to boycott such items will find it easy to identify them.”

“The recommendation is not binding, but this step marks an escalation in the country’s attitude toward Israel’s settlements. “

“Foreign Ministry official Naor Gilon passed along Israel’s harsh condemnation of the move to officials at the British Embassy in Israel on Wednesday.”

In other corners of the UK, the push continues for courts based on Sharia law.

“Shaykh Siddiqi, of the tribunal, said: “What we are trying to do is help the third or fourth generation British Muslims who are growing up to give them the services necessary to make Britain their homeland, rather than saying we actually want to ghettoise ourselves.”

“We are proud of our diverse society and are committed to ensuring cohesive communities. Nothing in the law of England and Wales prevents people abiding by Sharia principles if they wish, provided their actions do not conflict with English and Welsh law.”

Glenn Greenwald of Salon.com is suddenly shocked, just SHOCKED that an American politician would travel to a foreign country and badmouth the United States of America.

Is he shocked that Obama has repeatedly badmouthed the United States of America all over the world?

Of course not!

He’s mad as hell that Mike Huckabee visited Israel and voiced his support of the Jewish people. HOW DARE HE???

The report Greenwald cites is from the Jerusalem Post which has this SHOCKING quote from Governor Huckabee:

“It concerns me when there are some in the United States who would want to tell Israel that it cannot allow people to live in their own country, wherever they want.”

How dare Mike Huckabee criticize Obama for his total lack of support for Israel, a sentiment shared by many Israelis and American Jews themselves?

“Many American supporters of Israel who voted for Barack Obama now suspect they may have been victims of a bait and switch. Jewish Americans voted overwhelmingly for Mr. Obama over John McCain in part because the Obama campaign went to great lengths to assure these voters that a President Obama would be supportive of Israel. This despite his friendships with rabidly anti-Israel characters like Rev. Jeremiah Wright and historian Rashid Khalidi.”

“Now, some of them apparently have voters’ remorse. According to Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, “President Obama’s strongest supporters among Jewish leaders are deeply troubled by his recent Middle East initiatives, and some are questioning what he really believes.” I hear the same thing from rank-and-file supporters of Israel who voted for Mr. Obama.”

Perhaps it’s because Obama likes to give medals to anti-Semites and pal around with a “reverend” who uses expressions like “them Jews.”

Note to Glenn Greenwald: Before you attack pro-Israel Conservatives, perhaps you should hover a magnifying glass over the president for whom you’re so desperate to provide cover.

There’s only one American politician currently traveling the world, repeating a mantra of “America sucks” and it certainly isn’t Mike Huckabee.

Remember back in January when Roseanne Barr said Israel was a Nazi State?

I don’t know what to say about these photos, except that they will not help the left or President Obama who is already mistrusted by Israel. Perhaps because the Jewish people know that Obama was supported by people like Roseanne Barr.

I’m no spokesman for President George W. Bush, but if I was, I would immediately send out a press release to the media and Obama consisting of three simple words:

The Hill has a report out today that points out the severity of the suckage:

“The Obama administration, which was flying high a month ago after pushing through a climate change bill in the House, has since been dealt a series of setbacks and is struggling to regain its footing.”

“After the climate bill passed 219-212 on the afternoon of June 26, there was a feeling that the White House could get much of its agenda through Congress in 2009.”

“A month later, there are doubts that President Obama will even achieve his No. 1 priority of healthcare reform, much less cap-and-trade, immigration reform and a regulatory revamp of the financial sector.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Obama has Ben Stein nipping at his heels with statements like “We’ve Figured Him Out.”

“Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likeable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East, way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future.”

“The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill — a great idea in theory — was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans.”

“Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.”

If you’re Obama, you’re just trying to push through your ultimate power grabbing “health care reform” bill and you end up getting thwarted by the damn “Blue Dogs” in your own party:

The people of Israel have figured out that you don’t give a damn about them.

And the good news of the day is Sarah-freaking-Palin. WTF?

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, who supported Obama in the 2008 election, is now smelling a rat on Obama’s support of the Jewish people and Israel. Writing in today’s Wall Street Journal, he said:

“Many American supporters of Israel who voted for Barack Obama now suspect they may have been victims of a bait and switch. Jewish Americans voted overwhelmingly for Mr. Obama over John McCain in part because the Obama campaign went to great lengths to assure these voters that a President Obama would be supportive of Israel. Really professor? How could you have mistaken Obama’s stance on the importance of Israel?

Maybe Alan Dershowitz read this recent report from Jerusalem…

“Barack Obama is taking what he and his administration refer to as “a more balanced approach to Middle East policy.”

“Let me explain what that literally means in real terms.”

“It means the U.S. government is now using its clout with Israel to insist Jews, not Israelis, mind you, but Jews, be disallowed from living in East Jerusalem and the historically Jewish lands of Judea and Samaria, often referred to as the West Bank.”

“I want you to try to imagine the outrage, the horror, the outcry, the clamoring, the gnashing of teeth that would ensue if Arabs or Muslims were told they could no longer live in certain parts of Israel – let alone their own country.”

And it doesn’t end there. American political leftists, who adore Obama, usually find the Jewish people to be a convenient scapegoat. (Hmmm… I think we’ve seen that before.)

AmericanPowerBlog points out the hypocritical anti-semitism of the Huffington Post:

HUFFPO: “When the mainstream American press chose to broadcast the graphic video — as moving as the footage is, it is difficult to watch — it made a commendable decision that nonetheless highlighted its hypocritical attitude towards Palestinians who resist Israeli occupation on a daily basis, and who often meet the same fate as Neda.”

APB: “This is nothing but lies. Leftists always blame Israel and the “Jewish controlled” media. The truth is that the media’s long been in open collusion with Israel’s enemies.”

Right on APB. The truth is that American Conservatives support the Jewish People and Israel. American liberals/progressives… not so much.

It’s surprising that a man as intelligent as Alan Dershowitz would just begin to figure this out now, months after Obama took office as president.

How ironic.

Joe the Plumber, the American man who was thrust onto the national stage last fall when he dared to ask the anointed one a question that made him look bad, has put down his plunger and headed to Israel.

On a trip sponsored by Pajamas Media TV, Joe went to Israel a few days ago and has already begun sending back reports. Some people in the media are having none of it.

David Sugerman, a writer for the Examiner in Boston, wrote a piece last week titled “New Reason to Leave This Planet. Joe the Plumber to Become War Correspondent.”

In his piece, Sugerman laments:

“And we’re supposed to listen to Joe the Plumber? Please. We’ve spent the last eight years embracing the ultimate average Joe who has run our country into the ground. It’s time for competence and discernment. Joe, please.”

Of course, the President Elect’s lack of experience is no problem at all for Mr. Sugerman, who wrote on his own blog after the election:

“Senator Obama left me in tears. As I’ve said before, regardless of who you support and what happens, we’re better as a country for his candidacy.”

So Joe the Plumber isn’t qualified to go report on the situation in Israel because he lacks experience but Obama, who could make or break policy that actually affects the outcome of the current conflict is perfectly qualified regardless of his stunning lack of experience. Joe is to be scoffed at while Obama makes Mr. Sugerman weep tears of joy. Yeah. OK.

Michelle Malkin has a jewel of a piece on the subject which she published this weekend called “Who’s Afraid of Joe the Journalist?”

“If a community organizer can be president and a Saturday Night Live comedian can be a U.S. senator, why can’t a plumber be a reporter?”

Mr. Sugerman, who is mentioned twice in this post responded today with a lengthy comment which you can read by viewing the comments for this post. While American Glob appreciates Mr. Sugerman’s response, I can’t help but continue to see a double standard is still afoot.

He makes this point:

“My criticism of Joe the Plumber is more that the situation in the Mideast is profoundly complex, and here’s a guy whose sole qualification for reporting and analyzing this complex situation is his celebrity.”

Well, isn’t Barack Obama’s sole qualification for president “his celebrity” as you put it? It’s certainly not any real experience.

He goes on to say:

“But more important, don’t you think he’ll do a better job than the guy who has been in charge for the last eight years? Admittedly, that’s a low threshold–maybe we should aim higher?”

Frankly, I hope Obama does as well as George W. Bush has done. Like so many liberal writers, Mr. Sugerman ignores the fact that the economic crisis we currently face is due largely to Chris Dodd (D) of Connecticut and Barney Frank (D) of Massachusetts.

Furthermore, George W. Bush has kept America safe and prevented any further attacks on our soil since 9/11.

I hope for the sake of America that Barack Obama is capable of protecting our country during his watch.

God help us all if he fails.
