IRONY ALERT: Dems Think FOX News Should Have a Disclaimer

The Democratic Governors Association has its panties in a bunch because Rupert Murdoch’s company News Corp. gave one million dollars to the Republican Governors Association. CNN reports…

With the knowledge that Fox News’ parent company recently cut a $1 million check to the Republican Governors Association, the leader of the Democratic Governors Association is calling on the cable news network to run a “formal disclaimer” when it covers gubernatorial races. “I request that you add a formal disclaimer to your news coverage any time any of your programs cover governors or gubernatorial races between now and Election Day,” DGA executive director Nathan Daschle wrote in the letter to Roger Ailes.

My reaction in two words: SO WHAT?

As I’m sure the Democratic Governors Association is aware, so called “objective journalists” donated more money to Barack Obama than John McCain in the 2008 presidential election by a ratio greater than 10 to 1…

An analysis of federal election records shows that the amount of money journalists contributed so far this election cycle favors Democrats by a 15:1 margin over Republicans, with $225,563 going to Democrats, only $16,298 to Republicans .

235 journalists donated to Democrats, just 20 gave to Republicans — a margin greater than 10:1. An even greater disparity, 20:1, exists between the number of journalists who donated to Barack Obama and John McCain.

Searches for other newsroom categories (reporters, correspondents, news editors, anchors, newspaper editors and publishers) produces 311 donors to Democrats to 30 donors to Republicans, a ratio of just over 10:1. In terms of money, $279,266 went to Dems, $20,709 to Republicans, a 14:1 ratio.

By those standards, maybe the news network truly in need of a disclaimer is every single one except FOX News.

Talk about an inconvenient truth.

Student Protesters Learn Valuable Life Lesson

That lesson being, sometimes you should just keep your mouth shut…

Immigrant Students Face Deportation After Protest at McCain Arizona Office

Mohammad Abdollahi, an undocumented Iranian immigrant, takes the finger-pointing in Congress over stalled immigration legislation personally…

The gay Ann Arbor, Michigan, resident, who was brought to the United States illegally when he was 3, now faces deportation to a country he has never known and where homosexuality is a capital crime…

The students, who were allowed to peacefully protest inside the McCain offices all day, were ultimately arrested by local police for criminal trespassing and later transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. Officials released the trio from detention late Tuesday and initiated deportation proceedings for the weeks ahead…

A McCain spokesperson told ABC News the senator will support the so-called “Dream Act” as part of comprehensive immigration legislation but only after the Southwest border with Mexico is “secured.”…

“Elections have consequences, and they [the students] should focus their efforts on the president and the Democrats that control the agenda in Congress,” McCain spokeswoman Brooke Buchanan said in a statement…

“We need a Republican, we need Republican support, and McCain is a leader in the Senate,” said Lizabeth Mateo, who was also arrested Monday and faces deportation….

Spending Freeze or Brain Freeze?

Rumor has it that Obama is going to use his State of the Union address tomorrow night to announce a federal spending freeze. Isn’t that a bit like banning the hunting of an animal that’s already extinct?

President Obama will call for a three-year freeze in spending on many domestic programs, and for increases no greater than inflation after that, an initiative intended to signal his seriousness about cutting the budget deficit, administration officials said Monday.

The officials said the proposal would be a major component both of Mr. Obama’s State of the Union address on Wednesday and of the budget he will send to Congress on Monday for the fiscal year that begins in October.

The freeze would cover the agencies and programs for which Congress allocates specific budgets each year, including air traffic control, farm subsidies, education, nutrition and national parks.

Obama’s base is just thrilled with the idea.

Meanwhile over at Breitbart TV, they caught candidate Obama ridiculing candidate McCain for proposing…. The very same thing. Shocker!

Remember When Obama Supporters Liked to Call John McCain “McSAME”?

Remember that tired old rallying cry of the left that said if elected, John McCain would just be more of the same?

Have you seen this jewel from the Washington Post?

“Obama administration officials, fearing a battle with Congress that could stall plans to close the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, are crafting language for an executive order that would reassert presidential authority to incarcerate terrorism suspects indefinitely, according to three senior government officials with knowledge of White House deliberations.”

“Such an order would embrace claims by former president George W. Bush that certain people can be detained without trial for long periods under the laws of war. Obama advisers are concerned that an order, which would bypass Congress, could place the president on weaker footing before the courts and anger key supporters, the officials said.”

Funny how things work out, isn’t it?

John McCain and Lindsey Graham Offer Five Point Plan for Dealing With Gitmo Detainees

It’s easy to trust John McCain on this issue, considering that he actually was a POW. Who else could offer such a unique perspective on the subject? Here is the plan put forth by Senators McCain and Graham:

  • First, do not confuse war with common criminality. The detainees held at Guantanamo are not common criminals, but warriors the vast majority of whom are fundamentally committed to the destruction of our way of life. The appropriate legal foundation upon which detainee policy should be built is the law of war, along with procedures adapted from our military justice system.
  • Second, military commissions remain the appropriate trial venue for these individuals. We would strenuously oppose any effort to try enemy combatants in our civilian courts. By an overwhelming bipartisan vote in 2006, Congress passed the Military Commissions Act, which set forth procedures for trying enemy combatants for war crimes.
  • Third, preventive detention will continue to have a place in the war on terror . Under the law of war, the idea that an enemy combatant has to be tried or released is a false choice. Rather, it is well-established that combatants can be held off the battlefield as long as they present a military threat.
  • Fourth, we must address the detainee situation at Bagram in Afghanistan. An improved system for reviewing the need for further detention of detainees is required at Bagram — but we must not lose sight that Afghanistan is still an active theater of war and we cannot impede the ability of our Armed Forces to fight the enemy. We are encouraged that the Department of Justice has appealed a ruling by the D.C. district court that extended habeas corpus rights to detainees held on the battlefield in Afghanistan. In its motion, the Department of Justice argued that allowing the ruling to stand would harm our military’s ability to win the war.
  • Finally, Congress must be involved in crafting detainee policy. It is critical for all branches of government to work together to develop solutions to the complex legal problems presented by this war.

Janet Napolitano Making Lots of Friends Fast

janet-napolitanoDepartment of Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, made big news last week when she released a report on “right wing extremists” which insulted not only many average Americans but also took aim at American Veterans. Even John McCain is pissed.

“The last people on Earth we need to worry about are our veterans,” McCain said during an interview Monday night with Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren. “It’s insulting.”

The DHS report caused a noticeable backlash for obvious reasons but also caused many people to examine Secretary Napolitano’s department with a bit more scrutiny.

Now a group has formed to demand Napolitano’s termination. Their website is called FireNapolitano.com.

Major hat tip to writer Hogan at RedState for his excellent article on the subject, where he notes:

“The website focuses rightly on the unprecedented attack on law abiding Americans in the report – lumping returning veterans, pro-lifers, those who support tougher border security all into the category of “right wing extremists” apparently deserving of the attention of DHS. But it also focuses on what DHS may not be doing while it is pursuing a political agenda – for example, seemingly ignoring the very real threat of MS-13, a dangerous and ruthless El Salvadoran gang scattered throughout the United States.”

As if all this wasn’t bad enough, today Janet Napolitano even managed to piss off Canada. CANADA!

“Canada’s ambassador to the United States on Tuesday publicly rebuked Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for suggesting that the 9/11 terrorists entered the U.S. from Canada, and has asked for a private meeting with her to set the record straight.”

“Addressing a question on the different security challenges facing the U.S. on its borders with Canada and Mexico, Napolitano said terrorists entering America have come mostly from Canada.”

“To the extent that terrorists have come into our country, or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it’s been across the Canadian border,” Napolitano told the CBC.”

“But Canadian officials were privately upset with Napolitano and confirmed Wilson spoke out in direct response to the Homeland Security secretary.”

Way to go Janet, you’re off to a great start.

Remember When McCain Said “I Will Make Them Famous”?

During the 2008 campaign, one of McCain’s favorite talking points was “I will make them famous.” He was referring to legislators who would try to pass bills containing wasteful pork and earmarks. See the short video below from last October:

Well, apparently McCain wasn’t kidding. Politico is reporting that McCain lashed out at Obama today on the Senate floor.

“Minutes after hitting the Senate floor Monday, the bill touched off a fierce, emotional attack from the president’s old rival, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who lectured Obama for failing to do more to stand up against the thousands of spending earmarks in the 1,132 pages.”

Awesome. At least one guy who ran for president is keeping his promises. Too bad we didn’t elect him.

Shame on The View!

COMPARE AND CONTRAST:

John McCain (Republican):

  • Risked his life serving his country.
  • Spent years in a POW camp.
  • Fully exonerated after the only blemish on his political record.
  • Asked by Whoopi Goldberg if she should be worried about being returned to slavery.

Rod Blagojevich (Democrat):

  • Sleazebag member of Chicagoland.
  • Never served his country.
  • Tried to sell Obama’s vacant seat in Pay-for-Play deal.
  • Impeached and removed from office.
  • Continually defended by the partisan pig hostesses of The View.

Who is the more respectable person?

Who is treated with more respect?

Disgusting.

Sarah Palin Gets The Final Word

Anyone who supported John McCain but believed in real conservatism is a fan of Sarah Palin.

Furthermore, if you love Sarah Palin, you’re familiar with the extreme and ugly bias she received from the American media leading up to the election. Well now Sarah Palin finally gets a chance to address some of the absurd smears that were hurled towards her and her family.

John Ziegler, creator of How Obama Got Elected, sat down recently with Sarah Palin and asked her a few questions any Palin fan wants to hear answered.

Sarah Palin has class. She mentions the fact that Obama said his family members were off limits. Even so, she and her family were attacked. No reasonable person should blame Obama for that, but would be correct to blame the so called MSM.

A certain sick minded blogger who isn’t even an American citizen, has been pushing a disgusting rumor that Sarah Palin’s youngest son isn’t her own.

andrew-sullivan1

A certain hateful blog launched the rumor and a certain “news” network propagated the hateful whispers on the blogosphere as if it was factual, which it wasn’t.

Obama himself said that families were off limits but his obedient cult followers didn’t get the memo.

Now, many of these same morons want us to believe that Caroline Kennedy is qualified to be a United States Senator.

They think we forgot the misogyny and hate they espoused towards Sarah Palin and more specifically, her children.

They think that, you know, it’s fine to beat up Sarah Palin then ask softball questions of Caroline, just like they did with the Obamessiah.

Dear New York Times,

We haven’t forgotten.

We love Sarah Palin.

And we look forward to your death.
