No Sharia Please, We’re Americans

While perusing Michelle Malkin’s website today, I found the platform of Peace Through Strength. While all 10 items on their platform list are rather inspiring, number 4 jumped off the page for reasons that should be obvious to all Americans.

4. A nation free of Shariah, the brutally repressive and anti-Constitutional totalitarian program that governs in Saudi Arabia, Iran and other Islamic states and that terrorists are fighting to impose worldwide.

Sharia law is not only incompatible with the United States Constitution, it flies in the face of every idea upon which America was founded.

Some on the left would deride this mention of Sharia law in America as paranoid and anti-Islam. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Muslims in America are free to practice their religion, just like everyone else. Let me say that again, Muslims in America are free to practice their religion, just like everyone else.

If however, religious zealots of any faith seek to impose their values on others under law, then the freedom of all Americans has been compromised and that is unacceptable.

If you think that could never happen here, you’re wrong.

Democrats Advised to “Talk More Like Republicans”

Specifically on the issue of illegal immigration…

Long pilloried for being soft on illegal immigration, top Democratic officials have concluded there’s only one way they can hope to pass a comprehensive immigration bill:

Talk more like Republicans.

They’re seizing on the work of top Democratic Party operatives who, after a legislative defeat in 2007, launched a multiyear polling project to craft an enforcement-first, law-and-order, limited-compassion pitch that now defines the party’s approach to the issue.

The 12 million people who unlawfully reside the country? Call them “illegal immigrants,” not “undocumented workers,” the pollsters say.

Is this the ultimate admission of failure, hypocrisy or both?

Remember, this is the same party that stood up and applauded when President Calderon of Mexico insulted the State of Arizona on the floor of the House of Representatives.

This is the same party that has repeatedly used Arizona’s new illegal immigration law for their own political benefit.

Pathetic.

Since Democrats are trying to sound like Republicans, is it any surprise that they’re starting to throw their support to Charlie Crist?

Two NJ Men Arrested for Terrorist Ties in Somalia

Terrorism? What terrorism?

Wasn’t the election of Obama supposed to end stuff like this?

Two New Jersey men intent on killing American troops were arrested Saturday as they boarded flights to link up with a virulent jihadist group in Somalia, authorities said.

The men, both North Jersey residents, were charged with conspiring to commit an act of international terrorism through a group tied to Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda network, according to officials familiar with the details of the arrests.

Mohamed Hamoud Alessa, 20, of North Bergen, and Carlos Eduardo Almonte, 26, of Elmwood Park were apprehended at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens before they could board separate flights to Egypt, where they were to start journeys to Somalia.

It’s a good thing these guys weren’t trying to enter Arizona from Mexico. After all, America doesn’t want to be accused of racism.

VIDEO: Greta Van Susteren Interviews Jan Brewer on Her Meeting With Obama

I posted Greta’s pre-Obama interview with Jan Brewer last night.

This is Greta’s post-Obama interview with Jan Brewer and I love the fact that they did the interview in a bar. I would love to have a beer with Jan Brewer. Her name is brewer. Someone in her family made beer at some point.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer Goes On The Record With Greta Van Susteren

I sometimes think Greta Van Susteren is underrated. Now is one of those times. The video below is a great interview with Arizona Governor, Jan Brewer.

I think Jan Brewer rocks. She’s an effective governor, she cares deeply about national security and she’s a fiscal conservative. What’s not to love?

Obama Suddenly Finds Time to Meet With Arizona Governor Jan Brewer

This should go over well with his base…

President Obama intends to meet with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Thursday, a White House official told FoxNews.com, after criticism mounted over reports the president wouldn’t be able to meet her while she is in Washington this week.

Brewer had requested a face-to-face meeting with Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, the former Arizona governor, as tensions rise between his administration and the Grand Canyon State over its controversial law clamping down on illegal immigrants.

The White House denies that Obama snubbed Brewer, saying there initially were some scheduling issues this week that have been resolved.

I look forward to the “Let Me Be Clear” announcement that he fully supported Jan Brewer and Arizona all along. That could happen if he finally, you know, reads the bill? Jack Cafferty knows what I’m talking about…

New Illegal Immigration Measures Passed by Evil Racist State Senators in… Massachusetts?

I thought it wasn’t illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts.

Are amnesty proponents going to start boycotting the bluest state in the union?

The measure, which passed on a 28-10 vote as an amendment to the budget, would bar the state from doing business with any company found to break federal laws barring illegal immigrant hiring. It would also toughen penalties for creating or using fake identification documents, and explicitly deny in-state college tuition for illegal immigrants.

The amendment would also require the state’s public health insurance program to verify residency through the Department of Homeland Security, and would require the state to give legal residents priority for subsidized housing.

Recent polls have found that, while voters supported blocking illegal immigrants’ access to public benefits, they were split over whether the Bay State should have a law such as Arizona’s.

Massachusetts is clearly a hotbed of racism. Despite, you know, voting for Obama in 2008 by a margin of +26.
