Study Shows Al Franken Won Minnesota Senate Race by Capturing the Convicted Criminal Vote

Because he’s good enough, he’s smart enough, and doggone it, convicted felons like him…

The six-month election recount that turned former “Saturday Night Live” comedian Al Franken into a U.S. senator may have been decided by convicted felons who voted illegally in Minnesota’s Twin Cities.

That’s the finding of an 18-month study conducted by Minnesota Majority, a conservative watchdog group, which found that at least 341 convicted felons in largely Democratic Minneapolis-St. Paul voted illegally in the 2008 Senate race between Franken, a Democrat, and his Republican opponent, then-incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman.

The final recount vote in the race, determined six months after Election Day, showed Franken beat Coleman by 312 votes — fewer votes than the number of felons whose illegal ballots were counted, according to Minnesota Majority’s newly released study, which matched publicly available conviction lists with voting records.

Furthermore, the report charges that efforts to get state and federal authorities to act on its findings have been “stonewalled.”

“We aren’t trying to change the result of the last election. That legally can’t be done,” said Dan McGrath, Minnesota Majority’s executive director. “We are just trying to make sure the integrity of the next election isn’t compromised.”

No surprises there, in fact I’m reminded of another election in 2008. Remember this?

CLEVELAND – A man at the center of a voter-registration scandal told The Post yesterday he was given cash and cigarettes by aggressive ACORN activists in exchange for registering an astonishing 72 times, in apparent violation of Ohio laws.

“Sometimes, they come up and bribe me with a cigarette, or they’ll give me a dollar to sign up,” said Freddie Johnson, 19, who filled out 72 separate voter-registration cards over an 18-month period at the behest of the left-leaning Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

“The ACORN people are everywhere, looking to sign people up. I tell them I am already registered. The girl said, ‘You are?’ I say, ‘Yup,’ and then they say, ‘Can you just sign up again?’ ” he said.

About Those Tea Party Terrorists…

Guess what happened while Obama and Janet Napolitano were waging war on Tea Parties and FOX News. Al Qaeda was busy recruiting kids from Minnesota to be soldiers and suicide bombers in Somalia.

Guess what happened while Obama and Janet Napolitano were waging war on Tea Parties and FOX News.

Al Qaeda was busy recruiting kids from Minnesota to be soldiers and suicide bombers in Somalia.

“Reporting from Washington – Federal authorities unsealed criminal charges Monday against eight suspects alleged to be part of a U.S. recruiting network that sent young men to fight in Somalia — one of the largest militant operations uncovered in this country since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.”

“The court documents disclosed how some older members of the Somali American community in Minneapolis are believed to have lured younger ones to fight in Somalia — some as suicide bombers — with an Al Qaeda-affiliated group known as Al Shabab, or “The Youth.”

“The charges include providing financial support to fighters who traveled to Somalia, attending Al Shabab training camps and fighting with the group against the U.S.-backed transitional government there, as well as against Ethiopian government forces and African Union troops.”

Well isn’t that just ducky?

The Obama Administration focused its sights on the “radical tea party people” while real enemies of America recruited kids from Minnesota and indoctrinated them as terrorists.

The Minnesota Tea Party should respond somehow.

Stacy? Any ideas?

Stuart Smalley Wins Minnesota Senate Election, 50% of Americans Totally Screwed

al frankenAs of this afternoon, Norm Coleman conceded to Al Franken which means the Dems have a 60 vote majority in the Senate. If you’re wondering what that means, check out this post at Q and O blog titled “Welcome to One Party Rule.”

“Assuming that Coleman doesn’t seek cert., or if he does that no stay of the decision is put into place, then Franken will be seated as early as next week. With a vetofilibuster-proof majority in the Senate, the Democrats won’t need to play parliamentary games like using reconciliation bills, or the like, and instead will simply shove legislation down the throats of the minority. So get ready for cap-and-trade, government health care, huge tax increases, and a host of other government programs that don’t need and can’t pay for.”

Allahpundit at Hot Air points out that the Democrats have no more excuses.

“Exhibit A in why it is in fact possible to have too big of a majority: Once you hit 60, the cranks on your side demand results. The nutroots will be watching cap-and-trade and amnesty and health care and maybe even a second stimulus verrrrrry carefully, Harry. As will we, as will we.”

Michelle Malkin says “Send in the Clowns.”

She even includes a video of the classic Judy Collins rendition.

Perhaps the best post on this subject comes from Gay Patriot where it is noted…

“In a Democratic state in a Democratic year where the Democratic presidential nominee vastly outspent the Republican and had a far superior grassroots campaign which benefited down-ticket Democrats across the nation, the Democratic candidate for Senate ran 12 points behind the Democratic nominee for President in Minnesota, yet thanks to a third party candidate won election to the U.S. Senate, barely outpolling the Republican who has just conceded.”

Well said GP. Well said.
