Gadzooks! We Got the Filthy Blog Pox!

Who gave it to us? It was Monique Stuart!

Now I’m supoosed to write 8 random things about myself and pass on this message to other bloggers.  Well, if that’s the only known cure, we’ll do it. Here goes…

1. I dig Robert Frost. None of that “Stopping by Woods” stuff though. I like the borderline horror movie stuff like “Home Burial” and “The Witch of Coos.”

2. In my mind, it is no accident that the Irish word for water “uisce” is the same as the Irish word for Whiskey.

3. I once shook Ted Kennedy’s hand. I was six at the time.

4. My favorite color is black.

5. I’m watching Greta Van Susteren as I write this.

6. Dogs or cats? Dogs.

7. Rush Limbaugh or Colin Powell? Rush.

8. Best thing to happen to America since Reagan? President Sarah Palin.

Now I have to link to some other blogs and hope they catch the pox. I’m going to tag I Hate the Media, even though they just called Tucker Carlson a bozo. The Western Experience is always up for a laugh. Since I invoked Palin and Reagan in the same sentence, maybe Conservatives 4 Palin would like to chime in. Lastly, I’m going to tag Eric Dondero at Libertarian Republican for his excellent defense of Palin and Prejean.

At Least Obama is Transparent When it Comes to his Hypocrisy On Global Warming

In fact, he’s so transparent on this issue, he’s see-through. President Obama cares so much about climate change (when he’s not wasting 9,000 gallons of jet fuel traveling to Earth Day events) that he had his lackeys write about it on the official White House blog:

“On March 9th, I signed an executive memorandum with a clear message: Under my administration, the days of science taking a back seat to ideology are over. Our progress as a nation – and our values as a nation – are rooted in free and open inquiry. To undermine scientific integrity is to undermine our democracy. It is contrary to our way of life.”

“That’s why I have charged John Holdren in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy with leading a new effort to ensure that federal policies are based on the best and most unbiased scientific information.  I want to be sure that facts are driving scientific decisions – and not the other way around.”

Monique Stuart, one of our favorite bloggers, made short work of the president in a recent post on this very subject:

“The days of science taking a back seat to ideology are over?” Since when? Is science not taking a back seat to ideology when it comes to “climate change?” The last time I checked, there was plenty of science out there that doesn’t support the claims being made about climate change. There is plenty of science to suggest that the globe is not warming and, even if it is, it is not a man-made problem. Yet, this science takes a back seat to your ideology.”

“Anyone who doesn’t agree with your agenda is “politicizing” the issue, putting ideology before science, or presenting the public with a “false choice.” You are the false choice, Mr. President, and I can’t wait for the majority of Americans to see that.”

Monique is right but we think Obama and his cohorts are just capitalizing on their favorite subject. God knows Al Gore is making a ton of money as a global warming alarmist.

Hey, at least it’s Capitalism.

Conservative Mutiny and Rumblings of a Third Party

newt

Newt Gingrich caused quite a stir today by suggesting that if Republicans don’t return to their small government roots, there could be some…unpleasantness.

“If the Republicans can’t break out of being the right wing party of big government, then I think you would see a third party movement in 2012,” Gingrich said Tuesday.”

“Remember, everything Obama’s doing, Bush started last year,” he said. “If you’re going to talk about big spending, the mistakes of the Bush administration last year are fully as bad as the mistakes of Obama’s first two, three months.”

If this had been contained to CNN it might have been a non-story but conservative bloggers and commentators rang in their sentiments affirmatively. Monique Stuart reports that she’s in with a post titled Mr. Gingrich, I agree.

Even Allahpundit at Hot Air is wondering if his boss, Michelle Malkin, is ready for revolt.

We found an interesting letter to the editor at Florida’s TC Palm that clearly reflects these views:

“Congress just doesn’t get it. When our forefathers drafted our Constitution, they never intended for there to be career politicians. You serve your country and move on. With all the disgust with our representatives and their involvement in the financial mess, maybe it’s time to push term limits.”

Read the entire letter HERE.

One thing is for sure. Many, many American citizens are majorly pissed. They have every right. Our government is supposed to serve us.

Lately, the only people they’re serving is themselves.
