Why is Every Single Member of the Congressional Black Caucus a Democrat?
Before every single lefty blogger on Earth calls me a racist for simply asking this question, I’d like to point to the headline story on Politico.com which caused me to ask the question in the first place:
For CBC, the joy is tempered by worry
“For the Congressional Black Caucus and its 42 members, these should be the best of times.”
“The caucus boasts unprecedented power on Capitol Hill, with four of its members chairing major House committees and 18 others wielding subcommittee gavels. Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) serves as majority whip, and African-American lawmakers find themselves a key bloc of votes on everything from health care reform to climate change to ethics rule revisions. Mega-corporations like Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola and Toyota will shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars this week to sponsor the annual legislative conference hosted by the CBC Foundation, the group’s nonprofit arm.”
42 members of the CBC and every single one of them is a Democrat? Not a single Republican?
It almost seems like the Congressional Black Caucus is not a Black organization but really a Democrat organization because otherwise they would have reached out to candidates sponsored by the National Black Republican Association at some point. I mean, the Congressional Black Caucus should represent Black People of all political persuasions.
And furthermore, White Democrats would never demonize Black Republicans and re-write history just for the sake of political gain.
