Neither mentioned that the Senate health reform bill, which is the basis for Democrats’ last best chance at comprehensive reform, would give the insurance companies millions of new customers required by law to buy health insurance. It would also require insurers to cover everyone, regardless of age, gender or pre-existing condition.

To help pay for the new insurance requirements the government would give to people money to buy insurance – $336 billion over the next ten years. That money, ultimately, would have to go to… drum roll… insurance companies.

It’s all fake. It’s as fake as Obama passing out lab coats at a press conference.

My apologies for the profanity in the title but there’s just no other way to say it. Roger Ebert has become a real major asshole and I don’t think I know when it happened.

When I was a kid, Roger Ebert was a chubby likable guy who sat in a TV studio made to look like a movie theater audience and talked about movies with his now deceased business partner Gene Siskel.

The Roger Ebert of today is a venomous victim of Bush Derangement Syndrome, Palin Derangement Syndrome and Tea Party Hatred Disorder all wrapped up in one. Does he even care about movies anymore?

Today, Ebert snidely Tweeted out: Tea-Baggers: How do you score on this civics and literacy test?

When Scott Brown won the Massachusetts senate race, Ebert obnoxiously Twittered: Massachusetts to Teddy: “F–k You.”

On January 14th, Ebert published an article in which he suggested Rush Limbaugh should be “horse whipped.”

“You should be horse-whipped for the insult you have paid to the highest office of our nation.”

Who is this asshole and what has he done with Roger Ebert the film critic?

Pam Meister at Big Hollywood notes that Ebert is alienating many of his own fans.

Did Ebert stop to consider how many of those ”teabaggers” might be Ebert fans who follow him on Twitter? I wonder how many of them read his movie reviews for guidance on their entertainment choices. But like so many of the entertainment world elite, if you disagree with him, you’re a dumbkopf who deserves to be insulted, regardless of whether or not you are a consumer of his product.

David Horowitz of NewsRealBlog notices that Ebert’s politics have even worked their way into his reviews.

But like the rest of the liberal press since the Bush Administration, Ebert has become more openly partisan, and his reviews—still published under the aegis of the Chicago Sun Times and syndicated to places which have eliminated film critics like my hometown newspaper The Flint Journal– are often nothing but political lectures.

There are many times when someone can “dial it back” when they realize they’ve gone too far. I don’t think Ebert has any plans to do that but it wouldn’t matter for me anyway.

I don’t know what happened to Roger.

The Plum Line reports that they’ve heard from voters in Cambridge, MA that they were given ballots that already had the bubble filled in next to Scott Brown’s name.

Note to readers: Please let me know what you’re seeing in the field today in Massachusetts.

A software engineer in Cambridge says he was handed a fishy ballot at the polling station in a local firehouse — it already had the bubble next to Scott Brown’s name filled in. But he doesn’t think it likely that it was fraud.

“Scott Brown’s bubble was already filled in,” the software engineer, Aaron Kemp, 28, tells me by phone. “I handed it back to them and asked, `Can I have a clean ballot, please?’”

CORRECTION: I initially, thought this story was outright bunk because MA ballots in towns I’ve lived in look like the one below, but as you’ll see in the comments section, someone has produced an image of a ballot with a bubble.  See the update at the bottom of this post. I was wrong, I admit it.

UPDATE: A few readers comment that their ballots have “bubbles.” I am willing to concede that I haven’t seen every ballot in the state of MA, but I have been voting here for years. For what it’s worth, every ballot I have ever filled out looked like the one above. One sharp reader shares this:

UPDATE 2: This is all a bunch of crap after all. It’s a desperate tactic being used by the Coakley campaign. Jim Geraghty at National Review produces a Coakley document dated yesterday, which highlights these accusations.

Moving on…

Unlike Chris Matthews of MSNBC, I have actually been to a Tea Party and believe it or not, there were plenty of people in attendance who were not white.

But that fact doesn’t fit the agenda being pushed by Chris Matthews and MSNBC. Facts get in the way when you’re trying to convince people that the Tea Party movement is the rebirth of the KKK.

Where are the black people at MSNBC, Chris? I guess racial diversity doesn’t apply at MSNBC, where the news team is as white as the driven snow.

Again, facts and blatant hypocrisy can’t get in the way of pushing liberal propaganda. So enjoy the following video which should make your blood boil if you’re an American who loves your liberty, regardless of your racial background.

Also notice how many times Matthews uses the word “teabaggers.” Accident? Probably not.

Harry Reid’s Bribes

Article IV Section 1 states that the: Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State.”

Americans Should Look at Bribes in Health Bill

“Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, a Republican, says it appears there — are — enough votes for passage, unless the American people can build enough momentum through “irate” phone calls and e-mails over the next 48 hours to derail the measure.”

“Grassley says, “For the 61% of the people in this country that don’t want this, even after it’s passed the Senate, and I think the more the special interests like the ‘Nebraska bribe’ or the ‘Louisiana bribe’ are brought to the attention of the people, the more negative reaction there’s going to be.”

Bribery Evident in Health Care Votes

“I am so angry it is hard to express my thinking in a rational manner. In order to pass a bill that 60 percent of the American people do not want, our Senate leadership resorted to pure bribery. I should point out that in political terms, 60 percent is a landslide. First we are paying Mary Landrieu, D-La., $300 million for a second Louisiana Purchase to change her vote. That’s bribery. Now we are paying Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., who knows how much for his vote. The bill requires all states to extend Medicaid coverage to everyone below 133 percent of the poverty level. That’s an unfunded mandate. After 2016 Nebraska is exempt from paying any additional costs. That’s bribery.”

David Gregory: …What does the president need to address to keep his own party in line? Should there be personnel changes in the White House? What do you think the left is going to demand?

KOS: Well, 2006 is going to be a base year. It’s going to be a base election.

David Gregory: 2010, you mean.

KOS: I mean 2010.

David Gregory: Yeah.

KOS: And according to my own polling, we use an independent pollster, 86 percent of Republicans plan on turning out or are likely to turn out. Only 56 percent of Democrats are – similarly believe they’re going to turn out or likely to turn out. Only 32 percent of African-Americans, only 41 percent of 18 to 29-year-olds. We have numbers like that, we’re going to get killed in 2010. So the Democrats have to start paying attention to the base, have to start probably picking some fights. I mean, maybe regulatory reform could be a way to do that.

That would be Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D) of Rhode Island. He suggested on the senate floor, that this is the only reason people oppose ObamaCare. You know… 61% of the American people.

“They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one.”

The government of the United States is working against the will of the people.

NO ONE wants this disastrous health care legislation. The left hates it. The right hates it. Many in the middle hate it. The latest CNN poll shows that over 60% of the American people oppose it. Yet Reid, Pelosi and Obama are moving forward with it. Against the will of the American people.

They used extortion to get it. They used bribery to get it. They used secrecy to get it.

The lack of transparency involved in this nightmare legislation flies in the face of everything Obama campaigned on.

The legislation was never online.

The arguments were never televised on CSPAN.

The bill was hidden from the public.

Yet Reid, Pelosi and Obama are moving forward with it. Against the will of the people.

They are supposed to work for the people. They were put into office by the people. They are supposed to represent the interests of the people. But they think they know better than the people and they don’t care what we think.

Christmas 2009 will be remembered as a sad time for America.

A time when the United States Government looked to the American people and said “Merry Christmas and fuck you. We don’t care what you think.”
