The Party Of Grab

Hey, have you heard that Obama and Nancy Pelosi have cost America more money in the last 19 months than the entire eight years of the Iraq war?

BigFurHat of iOwnTheWorld has expressed this sentiment visually with his wizardly photoshop skills.

Let Me Be Clear: Obama Deserves ZERO Credit For Iraq

Obama has been breaking his arm patting himself on the back for success in Iraq lately, Biden too. But just so we’re clear, neither Joe Biden nor Barack Obama deserve a single ounce of credit for any success in Iraq. The timetable for withdrawal of troops from Iraq that Obama sees fit to call the fulfillment of one of his campaign promises, was designed by the one man Obama will never ever give credit. George W. Bush…

President Barack Obama told disabled veterans in Atlanta on Monday that he was fulfilling a campaign promise by ending U.S. combat operations in Iraq “on schedule.”

But the timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops in Iraq was decided during the Bush administration with the signing of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) by U.S. and Iraq officials on Nov. 16, 2008. The Iraqi parliament signed SOFA on Nov. 27, 2008.

The agreement, which had been in negotiations since 2007, set a timetable calling for most U.S. troops to leave Iraqi towns and cities by June 30, 2009, with about 50,000 troops left in place until the final withdrawal of all U.S. military forces by Dec. 31, 2011.

Listen to Obama, who opposed the surge, touting his success…

Don Surber Agrees With Ron Paul, Freaks Out

Take a deep breath, Don.

The Michael Steele controversy has me siding with Republican Congressman Dr. Ron Paul.

President Obama campaigned on Afghanistan being the “real war.”

It’s his.

Congressman Paul agrees.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Now which one of us is the clock?

One difference of course is that I would not pull out now. But Obama did not “inherit” this war; he sought it out. Steele called him out on that.

I think I know how to solve this problem but I confess I didn’t invent the solution.

This guy did.

He was right.

Why is MSNBC Pushing For a Military Draft?

Last Monday for some reason I was watching MSNBC’s Morning Joe, which I never do.  I was working away and not looking at the TV screen but my ears pointed up when I heard Joe Scarborough call for a military draft for the wars in the middle east. I actually wondered if I had misheard him.

Then I saw that DaTechGuy, who I know watches Morning Joe, noticed the same thing and actually blogged about it.

Today, NewsBusters noted that MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan called for a military draft. What’s going on over there?

I sincerely hope all the 18 to 25 year-olds who voted for Obama are paying close attention, because they are exactly who would get the call if a military draft was instated.

Then again, some of America’s young “activists” seem fond of warfare.

Oh, just one more thing. Do you think anyone besides me would be talking about this if FOX News was actively calling for a new military draft?

MoveOn.org Owes General Petraeus an Apology That’s Long Overdue

You’ve heard the whole back story by now.

General McChrystal has been removed from operations in Afghanistan and replaced with General Petraeus, an honorable man who owes America nothing.

Since General Petraeus has stepped up to the plate to continue selflessly serving America and is essentially bailing out the national security efforts of one President Barack Obama, perhaps MoveOn.org could issue a full page ad in the New York Times and beg forgiveness for this piece of partisan filth which it ran in the Times in 2007.

Would you be surprised to find out that MoveOn is already in a desperate race to scrub every mention of this from their website?

Shocker.

Memorial Day: Remember America’s Fallen Heroes

Memorial Day is a time to remember the brave men and women who have died while defending America.

I found the video below on BLACKFIVE and couldn’t resist posting it here.

The music is a song by Enya called Na Laetha Geal M’Óige. The title, which is written in Irish Gaelic translates roughly to “the bright days of my youth” and is fitting when you consider that’s exactly what our greatest heroes gave up to defend our freedom and liberty.

One of these men lives in reality, the other does not. Can you tell which is which?

Alan Colmes Says There’s No Such Thing As Radical Islam, Daniel Pearl Couldn’t Be Reached For Comment

Hat tip to ZIP.

Liberal commentator Alan Colmes appeared on Megyn Kelly’s FOX News program yesterday and claimed that there’s no such thing as radical Islam.

Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl couldn’t be reached for comment because in 2002, an Islamic radical used a knife to cut Daniel Pearl’s head off, while he was completely awake without any type of anesthesia.

Meanwhile, liberal media outlets continue to insist that recent attempted terror attacks on the US have absolutely nothing to do with radical Islam. After all, things like that don’t happen in liberal places like Massachusetts.

Left Bank of the Charles breaks it down: You might be a terrorist if…

Attorney General Eric Holder can’t even say the words, neither can Obama.

It’s not that hard to figure out who’s attacking America, you just have to live in reality.

Our leaders apparently, do not.

Republicans Won’t Back the Dems’ War Funding Bill Because…

It’s stuffed with non-military related PORK. Shocker.

House Democrats are preparing to pass an Afghanistan war-spending bill on a party-line vote as Republicans balk at extra provisions the White House wants in the measure. [SNIP]

Senior Democrats in the upper chamber and the Obama administration are looking to attach to the war bill a $23 billion fund to help state and local governments stave off teacher layoffs. [SNIP]

The Obama administration has called on Congress to approve the war-spending bill by the Memorial Day recess. Of the $59 billion in the measure moving through the Senate, $33.5 billion is for military operations and will go toward funding Obama’s plan to increase U.S. troops in Afghanistan by 30,000. The Senate measure also has $13.4 billion for compensation to Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent Orange [Fine!], $6.2 for foreign aid and $5.1 for domestic disaster aid.

If the only two provisions in the bill were for our military in Afghanistan and our Vietnam vets, the bill would likely get unanimous support from the GOP. Democrats can’t have it that way though. They have to include union kickbacks in everything. How else could they get votes?
