Letterman’s disgusting attacks on Sarah Palin and her family turned me off for good. If you want a great laugh on that subject, read Jim Treacher’s classic Letterman post HERE.

Letterman is one of those liberal comedians who clearly thinks of himself as someone who speaks truth to power. Apparently no one told him that the new Obama campaign slogan is FORWARD, because he’s still completely obsessed with George W. Bush.

The absurdity of Letterman’s position was even noticed by the left leaning Mediaite. When speaking about Obama, who has continued most of Bush’s programs and has benefited from them, he said…

“What more do we want this man to do for us, honest to god,” asked Letterman to applause.

By the way, do the editors at Mediaite realize that the word God is usually capitalized?

President Obama’s budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.

Coupled with the House’s rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama’s budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.

Republicans forced the vote by offering the president’s plan on the Senate floor.

Democrats disputed that it was actually the president’s plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn’t actually match Mr. Obama’s budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president’s numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, even challenged Democrats to point out any errors in the numbers and he would correct them — a challenge no Democrats took up.

Shocking. Then again, Democrats aren’t fond of passing budgets are they?

In the Democrat-led Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid on Wednesday had a chance to finally pass a budget — which he and his colleagues have refused to do for nearly four years now, though the law requires them to pass a budget every year.

As we’ve noted before, the Reid-led Dems are without question the most fiscally reckless and irresponsible group of politicians in our nation’s history.

Is it any wonder that we’re in such a mess?

The Senate voted on five budgets today, at the insistence of Republican senators. The result was revealing: no Senate Democrat voted in favor of any budget. This is consistent, of course, with the fact that the Democrat-led Senate has refused to adopt a budget, in violation of federal law, for the last three years.

The Democrats who control the US Senate have failed in their most basic responsibility to the American people. They have violated the United States Constitution repeatedly and they deserve to be fired.

Average American citizens would lose their jobs over much smaller offenses.

Milwaukee, Wis. – A new Marquette Law School Poll shows that with three weeks to go until the recall election Governor Scott Walker has taken a six-percentage point lead over Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, 50-44 percent, among likely voters. Just three percent say they are undecided. In the previous poll, taken April 26-29, Walker held a one-percentage point lead among likely voters, 48-47. Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch holds a 47 to 41-percentage point lead over Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin president Mahlon Mitchell in that recall election, with 10 percent undecided.

The Wall Street Journal cites the same poll as proof that Wisconsin is in play for Romney…

In a potentially ominous sign for the Obama campaign, a new poll has declared Wisconsin a true tossup state, finding President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney locked in a 46%-46% tie among likely voters.

As the Obama team eyes potential paths to victory in November, all count on the president winning the reliably blue states of New England, the Midwest and the Upper Midwest, all of which went for Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004. A loss of any of the bigger traditionally blue states—particularly Pennsylvania, Michigan or Wisconsin—would scramble the Obama math and make matters much easier for Mr. Romney, allowing him to lose in Virginia or Ohio without that automatically jeopardizing his chances.

This is pretty big news.

Even Allahpundit is wondering if Walker is headed for a landslide victory.

Not exactly a stunner, you say? Well, you’d be right, but it’s probably worse than what Jones admits here, too. Not only did they pull their punches towards the President in 2010, they tried to shift the blame for the Deepwater Horizon spill to the Bush administration, even though Barack Obama and his Interior Secretary Ken Salazar had been on the job for more than a year — and the lack of quick response made the situation worse.

(CBS News) Presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has a slight edge over President Obama in the race for the White House in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll.

According to the survey, conducted May 11-13, 46 percent of registered voters say they would vote for Romney, while 43 percent say they would opt for Mr. Obama.

This must have hurt even more…

I expect the media to be in a surly mood tonight. After months of manufactured “GOP War on Women” silliness, a new CBS/NYT poll finds Romney leading Obama 46-44% among woman voters. Mind you, that isn’t GOP women or even independent women, but ALL women voters.

Maybe Obama supporters should stop comparing Ann Romney to Hitler. Just a thought…

According to Greg Sargent of the WAPO, Wisconsin Democrats are furious. At they’re own party…

Top Wisconsin Democrats are furious with the national party — and the Democratic National Committee in particular — for refusing their request for a major investment in the battle to recall Scott Walker, I’m told.

The failure to put up the money Wisconsin Dems need to execute their recall plan comes at a time when the national Republican Party is sinking big money into defending Walker, raising fears that the DNC’s reluctance could help tip the race his way.

“We are frustrated by the lack of support from the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Governors Association,” a top Wisconsin Democratic Party official tells me. “Scott Walker has the full support and backing of the Republican Party and all its tentacles. We are not getting similar support.”

“Considering that Scott Walker has already spent $30 million and we’re even in the polls, this is a winnable race,” the Wisconsin Dem continues. “We can get outspent two to one or five to one. We can’t get spent 20 to one.”

First of all, Democrats are not even in the polls. Scott Walker is leading by 9 points. Second of all, it’s ridiculous for Democrats to cry poor in Wisconsin where unions have dumped millions of dollars into the effort to recall Walker.

Here’s an idea for Wisconsin Democrats. They should ask Obama to come to the state and campaign for Walker’s opponent because that always works.
