The Boston Globe Is For Sale? Paging The Koch Brothers…

February 20, 2013

Dear Koch Brothers,

We’ve never met and by the way, I’ve been to Tea Party events but never received one of those checks liberals keep telling me you guys were handing out. Anyway, I wish that you or some other wealthy conservatives would buy some media outlets. Here’s a perfect opportunity!

Please buy the Boston Globe, fire everyone and start over.

Breitbart has the details…

New York Times Puts Boston Globe Up for Sale

The New York Times, facing a difficult environment for newspapers in the digital age, announced Wednesday a plan to sell The Boston Globe and other New England assets.

The Times said in a statement that it has hired Evercore Partners to advise the company and manage the sale process. The company aims to streamline its assets to promote its own marquee brand.

“Our plan to sell the New England Media Group demonstrates our commitment to concentrate our strategic focus and investment on The New York Times brand and its journalism,” said Mark Thompson, president and chief executive of The New York Times Company.

Besides the Globe, the other assets up for sale are:, The Worcester Telegram & Gazette, and GlobeDirect, the Globe’s direct mail marketing company. Also included in the sale is the company’s 49 percent interest in Metro Boston.

As a New England lifer, I’ve watched the Boston Globe trash every Republican who came down the road and protect every liberal Democrat, even the ones who are criminals and there are plenty of them.

I would love to see the Globe survive with a more balanced approach but if it’s just going to be more of the same, I’ll enjoy watching the Globe fail.
