Obama Knew WWII Vets Were Headed To DC Memorial And Denied Them Anyway

October 1, 2013

Have you heard about the WWII vets who stormed the Barry-Cades in Washington, DC today?

Obama knew they were coming but denied their request.

HT to Ace of Spades. The Daily Caller reports…

Obama admin. knew about WWII veterans’ request and rejected it

The White House and the Department of the Interior rejected a request from Rep. Steven Palazzo’s office to have World War II veterans visit the World War II memorial in Washington, the Mississippi Republican told The Daily Caller Tuesday.

Palazzo helped the veterans commit an act of civil disobedience against the Park Service Tuesday, when the heroes stormed through barricades around the closed memorial.

The veterans were visiting the memorial as part of Honor Flight, a non-profit that provides veterans free transport to the nation’s capital to visit the memorials to the wars they fought in.

Why should anyone be surprised?

How many of you remembered that the “Gov. is shutdown” and all monuments and parks are closed to everyone? Not many, I’d guess. It’s sad that the guys made the trip not knowing that the gov. would be shutdown, but as the old saying goes, “Them’s the breaks”. Had it been me, I’d have allowed them to go. But then there would have been others mad that they couldn’t go, “thus and such”, but … oh well.

      Yeah, that’s just perfect.

Hey guys, thanks for storming the beach at Normandy but… oh well.

The trips for these honor flights are planned over a year in advance. They cost near 100k.

There would be no point financially to stopping this trip now except to be vindictive and small as the tweet states.

How much you want to bet when the libs get out to run up their score of waste during this shutdown period, they will add in this money despite the fact that the tour went on with littered barricades asunder, now as a sad little joke.
