Press Barred From Obama Hillary Hugfest
Hillary Clinton and Obama had to embrace tonight to convince people that Hills didn’t mean it when she trashed his foreign policy in a recent interview.
Politico reports that the press was barred from the event because you know, transparency…
No press access for Obama-Clinton reunion
The media will not have access to President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s encounter at an upcoming party on Martha’s Vineyard, White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz said during Wednesday’s briefing.
The reunion, set to take place at Vernon Jordan’s party on Wednesday night, comes after a public tiff that began when Clinton questioned Obama’s foreign policy strategy during an interview with The Atlantic. The Obama camp responded by criticizing Clinton in The New York Times, while adviser David Axelrod chided the former secretary of state for her support of the Iraq War in 2003.
Clinton signaled a cease-fire on Tuesday — “Like any two friends who have to deal with the public eye, she looks forward to hugging it out,” her spokesperson Nick Merrill said — but the press corps is still eager to confirm the peace.
