If Leftists Hate Burger King Now, Wait Until They Replace Workers With Robots

August 26, 2014

Progressives are apoplectic about a recent business deal which will relocate Burger King’s main operation to Canada.

From the LA Times…

Burger King swallows Tim Hortons; new firm is Canada-bound

Burger King Worldwide Inc. said Tuesday it would buy the Tim Hortons coffee-and-doughnut chain for about $11.4 billion and place the new firm’s headquarters in Canada, where the corporate tax rate is lower than in the U.S.

The cash-and-stock deal creates the world’s third-largest fast-food chain, with more than 18,000 restaurants in 100 countries and about $23 billion in annual sales.

The new company will keep the two brands separate and try to use Burger King’s international expertise to expand Canada’s Tim Hortons around the world, said Alex Behring, who is Burger King’s executive chairman and will hold the same role for the still unnamed merged firm.

All of this is happening as fast food workers, driven by progressive activists, are striking for higher wages without realizing that they will all eventually be replaced by robots.

This is what happens when progressives who have no understanding of business and a vocal disdain for capitalism are put in charge of America’s economy.

Consider this:, a non-profit progressive activist group which pays no taxes, is demonizing Burger King for trying to avoid taxes…

Maybe some of the progressive activists leading the ‘give me a raise’ charge are stake holders in the robot business. It’s not like progressives actually care much about people.
