The Most Important Lesson For Republicans in the Battle for 2016
The left doesn’t care if you catch them lying.
I look at political media reports every single day. I’ve been doing it for years and I recently came to a very cynical realization. The left knows it’s lying and they don’t care.
Some of my favorite conservative writers, bloggers and tweeters have an immense talent for pointing out the hypocrisy and lies of the left. That would matter if anyone on the left had any scruples but they don’t.
The right cares about integrity and truth. The left cares about winning and they have the media and the entertainment industry on their side.
This is why the left can say that Republicans hate women, want to take away their rights, ban tampons, and whatever other crazy claims they can dream up and people believe it. It must be true if someone on the Huffington Post said it. It has to be true if Saturday Night Live did a skit about it.
The difference between Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney is a few hundred million dollars and public perception. If Romney had made his money the way the Clintons did, the left would be insisting on prosecution and prison for Mitt.
The hypocrisy doesn’t matter to left. They care about only one thing…
Pointing out their lies and hypocrisy affirms the beliefs of conservatives but does nothing to sway average independent American voters who care more about what their favorite celebrities think than the truth.
You can’t win a debate with someone who doesn’t care or know about the truth.
The left’s strategy works, too. Conservatives think they’re still fighting a war dictated by the rules of gentlemen, but they’re wrong. The GOP is lining up its 2016 candidates on the battlefield in bright red coats while progressives are crouching behind rocks and trees, loading their guns with lies the media will carelessly repeat as facts.
If Republicans want to know how the left is planning to win in 2016, look no further than 2012. Republicans will be painted as racist, woman hating homophobes. None of the things the left said about Mitt Romney being rich and out of touch will matter when it comes to Hillary Clinton.
Again, they don’t care if you catch them in their lies. They only care about winning.
Case in point: In 2012, when Harry Reid was still the senate majority leader, he spent every waking moment on the senate floor lying about Mitt Romney’s taxes. Nothing he said was true.
It didn’t matter…
Harry Reid Defends Baseless Romney Claims: He ‘Didn’t Win, Did He?’
Sorry to be cynical folks, but this is what we’re up against.
The left will make up lies about whoever gets the Republican nomination and through the media, academia and the entertainment industry, those lies will become accepted as facts.
If Republicans don’t adapt their political battle strategy, nothing will change.
As much as it pains me to say it, the truth doesn’t matter.
Winning is all that counts.
