Brian Williams to Continue Lying at MSNBC
The verdict is in. Brian Williams won’t be expelled from the world of television journalism by NBC News, he’s just being exiled to MSNBC where he continue to lie and distort the news with greater expediency.
The editors of the New York Post haven’t forgotten a thing…
Brian Williams becomes the shame of MSNBC
We hear the journalists at MSNBC are mighty unhappy that lyin’ Brian Williams will be joining their ranks as the cable network’s “breaking news anchor.”
Seems a serial fabricator isn’t good enough for NBC News but is just fine for MSNBC.
And this is a guy who still won’t admit he lied. Indeed, when Matt Lauer challenged him Friday to say it outright, Williams insisted, “That’s not what happened.”
He was lying to himself, see — which is apparently supposed to make it better.
Worse, Williams seems to think everyone needs to understand exactly how he went wrong. Acting as if Lauer was torturing him on-air, he droned on about “my ego getting the better of me,” “a bad urge inside me” and “a desire to better my role in a story I was already in.” Who cares?
Now comes his redemption bid at MSNBC, the ratings-challenged cable channel whose employees are reportedly appalled.
We don’t blame them.
CNN says Brian Williams is being given a chance to earn back everyone’s trust.
Maybe he should ask Sabrina Erdely of Rolling Stone for some pointers.
